30-day follow up!

It's hard to believe that today is the 30-day mark since I had my surgery. Wow. It's been an interesting time with everything.

As you can see from my ticker below I have lost 48 lbs or 24% of my excess body weight. The staff was delighted with my progress. I'm feeling pretty good about myself as well. I haven't weighed 324 lbs since 2001. I smile every time I think about the fact, I cannot no matter how hard I try rebound from my weight loss. I simply and physically cannot eat myself back to 372 lbs.

We spent a lot of time talking about eating, proportions, and my problems with eating one bite too much.

They really appreciated two pieces of insight I brought with me to today's appointment:

1. If you cannot eat slow or take smaller bites, use chopsticks. Unless you're a pro with the utensil, you will slow down and take smaller bites.

2. If I have a bad day (i.e. vomiting) then the next day I give my stomach a rest and do full liquids.

I'll be posting progress pictures on my blog at http://kevsweightloss.blogspot.com if any of you are interested in checking them out.

I hope everyone is doing well!

Cheers!

Thanks Zac. Good luck and if you have any questions ask me. If you're on facebook feel free to add me.

Protein, water, and chewable vitamins are the most critical stuff right now.

You are doin' great Kevin.  I read your updates on the blog and , I think it is important to highlight the struggles along with the success just as you are doing, you should be so proud of yourself and the steps you are taking.

Thanks buddy. I write my blog for me but I also know that anyone can read it at anytime. I don't want to glorify WLS, because there isn't much glory except progress. I want anyone *****ads my blog to see this isn't the easy way out.

I am happy with things though. I still have a hard time believing 48 pounds are gone and not coming back. I caught myself yesterday thinking I'll gain the weight back and then I realized, no I won't. LOL.
