Help!!!

My woman doesn't want me to talk to my ex anymore. Well I'm a proud lesbian and I have been with my  partner for  3 years but I do and always will keep in contact with my ex because she is an important part of my life and the sad part I know  that if for some weird reason my partner  put her foot down and didn't want me to speak to my ex anymore than sorry but I would tell my girl NO. My ex was there though some rough times and women come a dime a dozen. Friends come far and few. I  need some help. Mind you I have much love for my partner and my ex. My daugther let it slip out that I was suppose to marry this female and the fact that she has my name tattooed on her . My partner asks as if I never told her and I did . Am I wrong? PLEASE HELP 

ok, I kinda got confused for a bit, but I'm ok now.. I still talk to my ex.. we are better at being friends, and there will always be love  for eachother, but it's the different kind of Love. your partner is just jealous, and that is hard to overcome..she has to do that piece herself...  good luck.

 I thought about what you wrote and how I'd feel if I was in the same situation.  My wife keeps in touch with one of her ex's but it's only occasionally.  To be honest, if she kept in regular contact with her, I'd feel uncomfortable with it.  I think it's very appropriate to keep in contact with your ex, but unless your current partner wants you to completely cut your ties to your ex, maybe it would be good to pull back some from her.  You have to honor your current partner's feelings, too.  You can still have great love for your ex because that won't change.
