First Fill

Hello All,

I had my first fill since surgery.   I have 4cc's of fluid in my band.   I'm curious if other guys out there have more or less fluid in their bands?  I thought my band was empty but according to the doctor, I had 2cc's of fluid in it.  I've lost 36lbs since May 15th so I'm thinking with this new restriction, I might drop a few more before I go back on the 22nd of this month.

Love to hear your feedback!  ;)

I came out of surgery with 2cc's. first fill was 3 and then they add 1 every time I go... Currently up to 7... My doctor is kind of aggressive with the fills and thats fine with me...  You're about where I at that point after surgery.... Remember that the band is more of a gradual process.. On average though I have been loosing about 14 pounds between fills. I personally didnt truly notice a HUGE restriction till after the last one.. According to those that I talk to thats about normal.

I kinda wish I would have gotten more fluid, but I guess you are right.... my time will come.   I had a time with some roast beef today... but I think I was just eating too fast and wasnt chewing enough.   After that settled, I ate slower and it was normal.   I did notice though I am not eating as much as I was.   I want to just keep loosing, lol!!!   :)

I wanted more on the first one as well.. But, now that I've had a few,,,,,,,,,,,,,, and know what kind of restriction I have now I'm really glad they gave me time to ease into it. The first two fills gave me time to get used to the change and learn how to work with the band. I think if they would have filled me anymore right off the bat I might not have been so excepting of the change..

 Hi!

Had my 1st fill this past Tuesday. They put 3cc's into my empty band. Still don't feel optimal restriction but that's okay. Can eat a LITTLE less that's all. Next fill -  August 11th (would have been July 28th but I'll be away for 9 days).

I found the fill very uncomfortable.... and not too pain free. lol. Then again, I realllly HATE needles. But eh.. it's comes with the territory.

Good luck! I hope all is well!!

Ya you'll feel restriction.. JUST WAIT!!!! I kept wondering what everyone was talking about and it took till the last one to really know. You'll get used to the needle.. Let them know next time they may be able to adjust the numbing medicine..

OMG I hate needles too!   The pressure I felt when they were putting the fluid in made me light headed.  I'm such a baby when it comes to needles, especially when they are stuck in me.   When I went in for my surgery...looking at the IV in my arm, I lost it.  passed out.

Needles,, not a problem.. The night in the hospital I swear seamed someone was taking blood for someplace on my body every hour.. They took it form my arm,, they took it from my wrist. They took it from my finger. So needles no a problem. Nowwwwwwwwww I volunteer to have them stick one my on stomach every six weeks. Was that not something we were told to fear when we were kids??
