Hi ya'll
VSG on 10/08/12
So, I'm new here and so glad to see a GLBT forum ( how progressive of OH). Well, a quick intro: I'm a gay southern boy (complete with accent), I'm 5'5" short , 215lbs and 30yrs old and. Have crazy high blood pressure since 15yrs old and it is unable to be controlled by meds. I'm currently waiting for approval from one of the medical credit companies for VSG with Dr. Joya in MX. I'm fairly sure I won't get the credit extended to me and that will suck. I've been shackled by food since childhood. I get sad when my plate or bowl is almost empty ,ya'll know what I'm talkin' about. My belt buckle digs into the underside of my belly all day. Drag queens envy my cleavage. My knees, hips, back, well...everything hurts most of the time. Fat rolls and Alabama summers= ewww! I'm tired lookin' and feelin' bad. I'm looking forward to not dreading stairs and being able to pick up my daughters without pain. I'm looking forward to being able to give more of my energy to them for playing, painting and just general silliness and fun.
I tend to get long winded.
say hi if you like.

Hey,
I'm a Huntsville boy, too. I spent almost 20 years there before moving abroad last year. Nice city, kind of boring. I had to get out or else I knew that I'd be stuck there forever.
I had my surgery in March 2007 at Crestwood with Dr. Facundus. Everything went great, as I'm sure yours will, too. I started out at 380 pounds (I'm 5'9") and have managed to maintain (in fact I'm still slowly losing) a weight of 145-140 for the past year. So, if you have any questions about any resources in the area. let me know. I'll try to help in any way that I can.
I agree on the Alabama heat thing. It's year round heat and humidity here, though. I'd be a (literal) hot mess if I were still fat. Don't worry. Your first winter after losing weight (even the wimpy North Alabama winter) you'll be freezing what's left of your butt off. So, best of luck. We're a good group here.
Cheers,
Chris
P.S.- I'm sure that old queen Tierra Stone has you beat in the cleavage department. The only thing she might envy about your breats (or anyone's for that matter) is that they're proportional and symmetrical. I always made a mental note that if I ever needed cosmetic surgery, NEVER to go to whatever doctor she used.
