One Month Out

Well, I'm a month and a few days post op and I'm pretty happy with the results. (drum roll please).....24 lbs lost since the surgery for a grand total of 70lbs gone forever. WHOO HOO!!! I think that calls for some frolicking.

My energy levels are FINALLY starting to come back, but I still have my good days and bad. The doctor's happy with my progress, but she says one of my blood pressure medications is messing with my potassium levels. Hmmm, let me think. Would I rather be at a risk for a stroke or eat smashed bananas?

Anyway, the doc said that I can finally start doing whatever exercise I want to starting July 1st. Any suggestions? I was thinking water aerobics.

Congrats on the weight loss.  Water aerobics are great, as are walking and swimming.

Excellent work!

Water aerobics are a great way to get started. As you continue to lose, you may find that you want to do something different.

Thanks all! My gym has a few water aerobics classes so I think I might check that out this week. I've seen some of the women that take the class and I think I'll be the baby of the group, but I'm getting to the age that I really appreciate that feeling LOL

Elliptical machine was great for me.  Low impact and you can set it for a pre-arranged fatburn routine.  It's EXHAUSTING, but I'm starting to develop an honest to God butt thanks to it.

Wow to 70 pounds.  think walking is a great way to start an exercise routine. It's easy to get it into most schedules. A walk of 3+ mph for 30 minutes a day is a good start. Work your way up to 1 hour. You might want to add in other aerobics as time goes on. I found that the walking at the onset prepared me for other exercise as time went by. -- Tom
