I'm going crazy waiting for my surgery date...

I thought with all I went through to get approved, that it would be a breeze waiting for my surgery date. Boy was I wrong.... I'm going absolutely crazy waiting for the phone to ring. I'm more anxious now that I was waiting over 4 months to get approved...... I haven't put my cell phone down in days. I carry it  everywhere I go.....lol

Lisa, glad you got approved! I know once I was approved, it was 2 1/2 months until my surgery. They had a lot of patients waiting and the hospital was also busy. It did pass fast though. Did you go to support group? We skipped it since I had a work function until 6 and didn't get home until after 6:30. -- Tom

I just got home a bit ago from the meeting. It was fun. Smoothie King came in and gave us all samples. Some of the stuff was really good!

Noelle was at the meeting and she said  was just waiting to hear back from the scheduling dept. about my date. She said it should be tomorrow or Friday. Most likely my surgery will be on either September 1st or the 8th....I'm hoping the time goes by fast!

Lisa, I am so glad you have been approved, I know how hard you have worked for this! The time will go by fast, I had to wait 3 1/2 months once I was approved and the time flew by.

It's just really starting to hit me that this is really happening. Last night at my support group, a girl there that just had her surgery had a bunch of Optifast left and she was selling it. It was $220 worth and she sold it to me for $100. That just saved me a bunch of money. But as I was carrying it into my house and I sat it on the table...I got really emotional. The Optifast is like the last step before surgery, and for me to be buying it and knowing that soon I'll be starting it, just hit me hard. For the first time in months...this feels so real, and that it's actually going to happen. I'm so anxious now,....and so excited.

Waiting is the hardest thing.Either for approval or getting to the date. I was approved the end of November and chose to wait until Jan. If I am gonna meet the out of pocket max, Imma do it at the beginning of the year and not the end. LOL I will say once I got my date it was better. I didn't worry about it until like the first week of Jan. THen it just hit home that I was having my guts rearranged. Good luck with this. We are all here for you.
