I think I might have hurt myself... :(

at the gym this morning... I think I might have pulled a muscle in my back, because it hurts like hell, and I can barely type...  Luckily it's my left side, and I'm right handed, so at least there's that.

The real question is that I've always been told that advil is a no-no after RNY.  I'm thinking it might help my back, but I just don't know.  Any thoughts?  Is it a problem when taken regularly?  Or should it not be taken at all?

are you on any antacids?   My surgeon put me on Protonix for 6 months to a year... and I was told that NSAIDs were ok so as long as I used them sparingly.

Same thing here...my surgeon has said that I can take them very occasionally as long as I'm doing the antacids twice daily....I think I've taken motrin 2 or 3 times since surgery with no problems....

DONT TAKE THE ADVIL.. Call the doctor if you're in pain.. You might want to get in to see someone anyway.. I dont know it I would try to treat that on my own. If you say that it hurts to type.. Sounds like something more then just muscular.

If you are talking muscle pain from muscle pulling and/or spasm, then a good professional, deep tissue massage does wonders. I've had back probs for 30+ years, taken advil, etc, muscle relaxers (whee!), spent hours and $$$ at the chiropractor... The best thing (for me) to get the spasm worked out is via massage. Feels great. Relaxes you ****ensing is important). AND another plus: massage puts you in touch with your body, really important as we develop a new relationship with our physical selves. Sorry. I'm a massage fanatic.

All the best to you!
