I am in good physical condition, darn it!
Sorry I've been away. We went up to NY for the weekend for my Grandpa's burial and on Sunday my Mom and I took my daughter up Whiteface Mountain in Lake Placid.
We did the 1/5 mile hike and the sign said "should be in good physical condition". Now I've been visiting this mountain since I was a KID!!! It's so great taking my OWN kid to the same spot. Any way ....I've done this 1/5 mile hike many, many times during different stages of my weight gain(s) and I have to say this time .....it was EASY!!!
My thighs and legs are still BURNING (what does that tell ya? lol) ..but for once I did this hike and I was NOT out of breath and my knees were NOT crying for help!!!!
I know it's only a short distance ........but please join me in my happy parade

The road from the drive up the mountain...
I had flip flops on because my Mom didn't tell me we were doing this LOL!
Good stuff and beautiful scenery. In flip flops, too. I'm impressed.
Sorry for the cir****tances of the trip, but I'm glad that you still were able to take this beautiful hike and once again see how far you've come health wise.
I hated when I was bigger how out of breath I would feel just after going up one flight of stairs. Then, it seemed to take forever to get my breath back. Now, one flight of steps is nothing. Those thousand plus steps I walked up on Good Friday had me really winded, but another good thing is that if I do lose my breath, it never takes long to get it back.
Aren't the best workouts the ones that don't feel like workouts?
Cheers,
Chris
