Surgery delayed - indefinitely?
Here I am, finally ready to get my surgery date, and now it's been postponed ... indefinitely. Since March, I have been running a low grade temperature (99.0 to 99.9 range). Last week an infectious disease doc took LOTS o'blood. No results yet. Not Lyme disease - had that test already. Candidates: lupus, HIV, rheumatoid arthritis, lymphoma, mystery infection, and other weird stuff I never heard of ... it's amazing how many things have a low grade fever as a symptom! The surgeon this would be a "long and winding road." I'm not sure that this is what the Beatles had in mind. Just wanted to share this with you all because you can understand (worried: not so much; frustrated: very.) Seems I've switched channels from "The Biggest Loser" to "Mystery Diagnosis." OY! ... Thanks for listening.
Well Jim, think of it this way. You are having surgery for your health. You want it to be the most successful. So, a delay in stabilizing your health is an important step to assure success. A few months from now, you swill most likely be on your way and healthier to boot.
