Sleep pattern
Well, as may be noticeable, I woke up super early this morning.
Somewhere, 5-7 years ago, I started with early morning waking. Every day (CPA*****t), I wake up between 5 and 7 am! I can't fall back asleep and end up downstairs playing on the computer. I had hoped that once off the CPAP (a few weeks back) I would return to a normal pattern. But alas no . . . This morning was particularly bad; it was still dark. We are leaving on vacation which I am sure is contributing today and I know PMS exacerbates. And, perhaps, it is just aging . . . But, does anyone else have this experience? Did it ever return to normal? Any tips?

I don't use a CPAP but I wake up (like clock work) every night at 2am ...I go pee, get a quick drink, and back to bed. It's so ridiculous! This 2 am thing started in January when my Grandpa died. Now it's 6:30 and I'm up again. WTH!
My partner uses a CPAP and claims she never sleeps well because "it's a stupid machine" ..but any time I look over, she is fast asleep.

Me too.. Except mine is a 2:30 and 5 :30 like clock work. And I wake up between 5 and 7 for good. No matter how late I go to bed, I have no concept of sleeping in anymore.
I never used a CPAP and this was NOT my problem before surgery. I really think the surgery has something to do with it... I'm just not sure what yet.
I have found a new way of life that has kept me at Goal since 2008.. And keeping it that way!
I don't think I've ever been one to be able to sleep 8, 10 hours. I use a bipap and have noticed that I'm sleeping even less now - maybe 6 hours a night. I've noticed quite a few posts on other forums where people mention the same thing that they seem to be sleeping less since their surgery. I know this can happen as we age and for women when they are perimenopausal. I just never thought the surgery had something to do with it but now I'm wondering. I'm probably a combination of all of the above.
