One Week Post-Op
Hi everyone!
Well... exactly one week ago... My life was changed!
Everyday has gotten better. Today I felt tight/gassy ALL day. Not too fun. I've been able to do everything but sleep on my stomach. Nights are a bit rough if I don't have high enough pillows and a heating pad.
I can't wait to move onto soft foods next Wednesday!!! I'm so over broth and liquid protein. Being a bandster, my Dr. said I do not have to continue the protein drinks after week 2. So excited considering I never really found one I like since I don't like the texture of a 'shake'. I just get my one 30g drink down in the morning and do not worry about protein for the rest of the day. My Dr. said 30g for the first 2 weeks then 60g afterwards.
I'm so excited to make these changes to my lifestyle. The scary part is done, now its time to put in the hard work. I've been an emotional eater my whole life and I also been a fat girl since 4th grade. I try to imagine my life at a healthy weight and I can't.... So for now i set smaller goals in my mind, 22 more lbs to be in onderland. I'm soo excited!!!!! I haven't seen onderland since 2002 when I was 17.
Losing my best friend (food - unhealthy kinds) is not easy, but it is the best thing I can do for myself. AND I'm not alone... Kerry is right there doing everything with me! =) I couldn't ask for more - Life is Perfect!

Sounds like your doing great. I remember being "SO OVER" the clear fluid stage too.
My favorites in the next stage :
"Protein pudding" - I added 1 scoop of vanilla protein to SF cheesecake pudding" - YUMMY
1/4 cup ricotta with 2 T of tomato sauce and 1 oz of mozzarella - heat in microwave till gooey
1/4 cup refried beans, 1 splash of Hot sauce, 1 oz of cheddar - heat in microwave till gooey
