I GOT MY DATE!!!!!!
I waited the three weeks they told me to and called the surgeons office today to find out if my paperwork had been sent to the insurance company. Sue (the dr's secretary) said she's been trying to get me on the phone since Friday! I don't usually answer unknown calls. I was camping in Indiana all weekend and didn't even think about it except when I was enjoying s'mores. She said all my stuff was already back and I am approved!!! My surgery is scheduled for June 30th! Ok so what now? What do I need at home? Just the protein shakes???
Congrats! I don't wanna throw out a huge plan for you cuz every doctor will have you do different stuff, but yes, you'll definately need some shakes. Some sugar free jello and sugar free popscicles are a good idea too. Get with your surgeon's office and if you have one, your nutricianist. They probably have a plan for you.
Good luck!!!!!
Celebrate by having a protein shake tasting with a loved one or twelve. I had a party where I bought every type of protein shake I could find. We served them in shot glasses and had a sorbet course between each one to cleanse the pallette.
Just don't forget your taste buds will change post surgery, so don't stock up too much on one kind of shake.

Your doctor will probably have a kind of handbook for you....mine did. It should list the foods and serving amounts you can have as you progress weeks and months. It should also list helpful hints...dos and don'ts...what not to worry about...what to call about, who to call, and how handle emergencies. It should also give you the list of supplies for post surgery. Ask the PRN or your doctor's coordinator for the next steps. This is great news!!!

Congrats!
I wouldn't spend too much money on anything. Your tastes change after surgery. What you like now you might not like later. I would stock up on lots of samples. That way you haven't spent tons of money on tubs of powder you minght not like. I have heard good things about MAX protein powder from GNC. I can't drink it due to allergies. Unflavored protein powder is a good thing too since you can put it in anything. Good luck with all of this.

I have been slowly accumulating samples. I'm going to have to do it a bit quicker now, but that's good! I haven't tried any of them because I don't want to be disappointed later thinking "oh that one was good" and then it isn't. I will be sure to get some popsicles and update my jello stock. I think all of what I have is expired, same with pudding! I've been reading on here for quite a while and am hoping I've read all your messages and retained them for the most part! I've been researching vitamins also. I've found a few, but does anyone have any suggestions? I don't have a lot of money so getting the most out of what I can is the idea. I already got a pill crusher so I can use my multi vitamins if I want or need to.
