my baby gets the lapband tomorrow!!!!
So, here we are the night before my girlfriends surgery. I am super excited for her! I have mixed emotions about the whole thing though. I am super excited like i said, excited for her, excited for me, but very nervous about the actual procedure. Not so much even the procedure as the anesthesia. I work for the hospital the surgery is going to take place in, which is comforting, but i cant get passed the intubation process and anesthesia. I work as an EMT and see these things often, but it is different when it involves someone that i care so deeply for
Wish us luck!

I'm not a real "organized religion" person. But I have a close friend whose father was a minister. Whenever I freak out about something, she gently paraphrases from Mark 4:40 "Why do you fear? Where is your faith?"
Somehow, even in the absence of a regular church life, I remember these words when I get afraid. I remind myself of my belief that love is not only powerful, it is indestructable. There is no need to fear, because I have faith in the power of love.
Your love for your partner is fierce. It will carry you - and her - right through all this. In this I have faith.
All the best to you both!

I found that my fears were much worse than the actual procedure. I realize this doesn't help when you are still on this side of it. Hang in there! It's the start of a fabulous new journey. She's fortunate to have your support and love. Her first week will likely be a little rough but will get easier as each day passes.
May the Force be with you!
