I've decided not to go through with the RNY...
After a month and a half of nagging myself I have decided to have the sleeve gastrectomy over the RNY. My surgeon was really pushing for the VSG over the RNY and I'm going to give that a shot.
Statistically RNY was more in my favor for producing successful weight loss but he assures me that VSG will do the same thing. He also was very hesitant to give me the RNY due to my reactive hypoglycemia. That's where my blood sugar will drop out of no where for no reason.
And this is what scares me... my hypoglycemia has been really bad lately. If RNY makes it worse then I will have serious issues.
So, I'm now fully on board with the VSG. I have wrote a rather long entry about it on my blog, check it out if you want.

Kevin, Congrats on your decision. I have observed by your posts that you are pretty analytical and thoughtful in your processes. That is a good trait when undergoing surgery. You need to feel confidant about your decision. My surgeon has only done the sleeve for the past year. The folks who come to our support group have just been tremendous successes. The surgeon has even remarked that almost all of them are losing as much or more than RNY patients. They all look great and I haven't heard anything bad from them about their surgery process and recovery. Take care and keep us up on your progress. -- Tom
