I'm only a couple of months out from my lap band surgery, but so far, I'm really really happy with it.  The first week or so was pretty rough, but it got easier and easier.  By the time I was on full food (as tolerated), I had my first fill.  This was perfect because I'd gotten stalled but am back on track.  I've lost about 4 pounds since this past Thursday.  So I think it's a personal choice as to which surgery you want.  Lots of people have had really good results from both.  It's good that you are reaching out to get a broader perspective to help you decide.

Best of all to you!
Barb

My partner and I both had band 18 months ago. We have both lost 80 lbs so far and kept it off. We'd lose more if we would exercise more, but we don't. One day we will.

Welcome.

Welcome. I first chose LapBand but then had RNY bypass. I've lost 112 pounds, am at goal 7 months after surgery (lost 1/2 of it before surgery).

I think either works as long as you work it. They can do the plumbing but we have to do the electrical.

This is a great forum for getting questions answered, sharing information, and venting... doing the electrical.

Hope you'll stay and share your journey with us.
