Scary Sunday

Took a shower today... Started to feel queezy and my head was spinning. Fainted, fell out of the shower, cracked my head on the floor, broke the toilet tank, big briuse on shoulder and back. Woke up with blue tiddy bowl water everywhere. Dad saved the day once again.

I used to see my dad as a jerk. For many years I knew he didn't approve of my lifestyle. This weekend has taught me differences are ok. I'm very lucky he is in my life.

WOW!!! What a day!!! Did you go to the hospital? Maybe you are dehydrated? Are you still taking pain meds? I didn't do anything (like showering) after I took my meds. I would shower, get dressed, then get all comfy before taking the pain meds.

Glad to hear your Dad is coming around. He obviously loves you ...and so does the rest of your support system (from your previous post).

Feel better soon.

I am so glad you  are ok!  Keep sipping away!!!  dehydration causes havoc with our bodies!

Sorry you fell, but congrats on being lucky to find out that your Dad does love you!!!   Not liking someones lifestyle does not mean you don't love the person!!!  You have been double blessed with WLS and you r Dad's unconditional love!!!

Falling must have been really scary . . . and painful.  The shower was one of the places I felt weak.  Like everyone else said, watch out for taking pain meds and then trying to do something active - like going to the supermarket.  I had a scary episode of almost passing while shopping.  Not fun.   Just take care of yourself, and don't fret too much, it gets better quick.

Jamie -
I had surgery 2  1/2 weeks ago and I have felt the same way about my MOM being here and talking care of me.  This is the same woman who has been radically opposed to most of my choices in life and yet here she is... and  she has been just wonderfully supportive and rescued me from the bathroom floor when I passed out from dehydration....

congratulations on your surgery and all that comes with it.  Take it easy, one day at a time.

I've heard of this happening due to low blood pressure.  Are you on blood pressure meds, still?  If so, go have yourself re-checked ASAP.

I agree with Thespen!  get yourself checked out.  Make sure your blood pressure or your sugar isn't bottoming out!  Parents can be jerks until their child has something like this surgery done to them.  My surgery brought my parents and i much closer together :)

Hang in there handsome :)  HUGS!

Wow.... do we need to come keep an eye out on you?
I've heard of this happening though, possibly due to the change in temp and blood pressure.

Glad you're ok

Ok, did you have a really hot shower? That can bottom your BP out faster than anything. Like Thespian, are you still on BP meds? I never had that issue with dehydration, just my BP acting up. Let me tell you. BP is an evil thing when it goes wacky.
