Alfonso,

Try using www.fitday.com to log all of your food.  It's a pain to use at first, once you have to enter you food info the first time.  It logs everything for you and it's free.  I was around 1200-1500 cals a day at six monts. I am at around 1500-1800 cals a day now.  I have hit my goal weight...And holding

Gosh, I don't even know my caloric intake for the day! I eat the same stuff day after day so I stopped tracking stuff many months ago.

I was told not to count calories.  I guess that is provided I correctly eat the diet they have established for me.

My suggestion to you is to go see your nutritionist and get their recommendation beyond no more nuts and cheese.  It's too easy to graze on nuts IMO.

You should be seeing your nutritionist on a regular basis anyways... it's odd they didn't catch this behavior when you first started it.

My program doesn't count calories. I have a prescribed list of foods that I'm supposed to eat off of, another list to avoid and I've been instructed to eat three meals a day, 90-95% protein, no snacks and never again eat more than 3/4 cup of total food at one sitting. It was at 1/2 cup until I hit my goal. Doing that, there's no way I would get many calories.

What I'm really doing is measuring (most of the time) 3/4 cup of food, cutting back to 1/2 when I'm close to my weight limit, allowing myself some of the foods on the no list like nuts but cutting them out if I gain. I have added a protein shake once a day because I was feeling completely run down and starving between breakfast and lunch. That has helped. And I eat 90-95% protein in my meals. The other 5-10% are carbs and fats. So far, I'm maintaining within 1 pound on either side of my goal weight.

But seriously, that's my program. To be successful physically and mentally, you need to stick with your program and I'd say go back to your nut and find out how many calories you should be eating to get to your goal and then be very accurate.

Good luck!

I had my 12 month visit a couple weeks ago and my NUT didn't want me to lose anymore weight, which I am fine with. She said if I lost more than 5 lbs to start adding more nuts and cheese to my diet (the good fats) to put the 5lbs back on safely!

That is the only thing I can think of as to why you shouldn't eat too much of it. You can gain. I guess.

Ok so I have the same program as Raven.. But I DO count calories, and that way I don't have to measure everything. I still weigh my protein to make sure it is no more than 4 oz. I am still trying to lose 20 pounds so I eat 600- 900 calories a day, with strict instructions to start eating 1200 calories once I hit goal.

I eat 90-95% protein with breakfast being 25 gram protein shake. Then dense proteins for lunch and dinner. I basically eat a half of a chicken breast for both meals in various forms. I stay away from carbs (they are the devil in food form) and I pay close attention to fat because they make me dump....

I have a WONDERFUL life saving application on my crackberry that I input my food in. This is another reason I don't measure as much. As soon as something hits my lips and sometimes before I log it in my blackberry. The program also keeps track of my excercise and I wear a heart rate moniter during all my work outs so I know exactly how much I'm burning. So to add to my 600-900 calories I am burning 600-900 calories while working out 4-5 days a week..

Like Raven said, that's my program... Good luck!!

I have found a new way of life that has kept me at Goal since 2008.. And keeping it that way!

I track calories using Calorie King on my laptop, not the on-line version.  I find I eat between 800-1200 calories a day, with an average of 900.   I've been around this number since 6 months post-op. I also use it to track protein intake and to watch for excessive carbohydrate intake.

Thank you all for your comments.. I do have a diet that was laid out by my nutritionist but it seemed like too much food 4 me too eat the last time I looked at it.. I have to go back and look at it again.  I have a follow up appointment with her coming up pretty soon so I will ask her for specifics on my own personal diet.   ScottAZ – congrats on reaching your goal.. Fitday.com seems pretty straight forward thanks for the recommendation..   I like the measuring plan that LadyRaven and Just Brooke are following I have to look into it see if its something I can stick to.  I   Lesbianvoice I just got a heart monitor so that I am able to track my burned calories.. I have 29 lbs to go to get to my goal weight I hope that with my new work out routine I get there soon. I am looking into getting a crackberry or an iphone just because they have those awesome convenient applications for them..   jmacon1966 – Doc. Said to stay away from nuts and cheese cuz they have too much fat. In a meal its fine but not as a snack. So I have definitely gotten rid of that. Thanks again
