Do any of you ever remember from dieting in the past when you reached a goal (even if it was just 10 lbs.) and then you become sort of relaxed about it??

Well ..at my 12 month visit on Tuesday the dietitian said not to lose more than 5 more pounds. I've only lost 7 since New Years so I think it's fair to say that it won't be hard. I went past my goal weight months ago so I am fine. She said if I lose more than 5 to start adding the good fats into my diet.

I never thought in a million years someone would tell not to lose more LOL!! Now that I know I need to maintain I feel so relaxed ...like I can wash my hands of it and say "I'm done" and just eat and do whatever. Trust me, I'm still sticking to my eating schedule and I haven't done anything stupid ..but I hate this "I'm done" feeling. I hope it doesn't interfere with my success.

One thing to keep in mind hon is that even though you've done fabulously with your weightloss, there is still restriction whether it be administered by your doctor or your own pouch.   I don't think you'll ever be able to eat as much as you used to or you'll just be sick and miserable......so there's safeguards but sticking to what works best for you is a lifetime job.  This IS the hard part....maintaining.

Oh I hate to tell you.. But yes you will be able to eat normal again.. I just got back from a support group where the majority of them are battling eating like a normy again, and they don't feel sick.

But the one thing I have seen on my yahoo graduates board, and kaiser support board is.

A)  Carbs are the devil's spawn.

B) Don't graze, no matter what you do..

So if you stick to yoru schedule Brooke you should be fine. I wish I could lose 20 more pounds.. And yes my bariatric doctor said no way.. I couldn't believe I was told to stop losing weight too! And the other shocker was when teh nut told me to INCREASE my caloric intake from 600 - 900 to 1200!!
I have found a new way of life that has kept me at Goal since 2008.. And keeping it that way!

Thanks for the reminder about grazing.  I am really worried that I am falling into that habit at work.  It is not busy and I have snacks (all good choices still) that I am eating every 2 hours or so.  I think I really need to eat more dense proteins at lunch.  I am hopeful that will help some.
