Protein Shake Recipes
Hello!
As of right now, I am on a high protein diet, preparing for my surgery on May 15th. I have to have three protein shakes a day and two meals that have high protein and high veggies. (I'm getting lap band) My doc said I could also have low fat and low amounts of carbs so I am not totally going nuts here. I can also have some fruit (blueberries, strawberrys and apples)
I have been playing with the flavors of some of my protein shakes and thought I'd share these with some of you. Keep in mind, I havent had surgery yet, and I know once I do, these great ideas of mine will be put on hold.
Vanilla Protein Shake with a splash of pineapple juice and a few drops of immitation coconut extract and lots of ice - Awesome
Vanilla Protein Shake with a few dashes of cinnamon and apples slices (no skin) - YUMMM
Chocloate Protein Shake with a teaspoon of peanut butter in it - Freaking amazing
Chocolate Protein Shake with strawberries - choclate covered strawberries! Hell yeah!
Strawberry Protein Shake with Imitation banana extract (doc said no real bananas...I assume he meant fruit - hehe) It's good!
Vanilla Protein Shake with a handful of blueberries - YUMMIE
Vanilla Protein Shake with Crystal Light (any flavor) - Super Yummie, I think I may try more flavors with Crystal light instead of the extract?
Vanilla Protein Shake with Imitation Orange extract - Orange Cremecicle!
I also made a couple of them up and froze them for my evening snack...sorta like "ice cream"
All of these mixed well in the blender with lots of ice. I have to say... I'm loving the protein shakes and most of the IMITATION extracts have zero calories in them!!!
