VSG on 04/06/09 with
Yes, I wear one.

It says....

NO BLIND NG TUBE
NO NSAIDS
DEHYDR RISK
VERTICAL GASTRECT VSG

I don't want them sticking anything into my tiny tummy.......without looking where they are going!!

I use my cell phone as a bracelet.  it has an emergency message (gastric bypass and possible amoxicillin allergy) on home screen.

Yes I have medic-alert since my RNY.  It says RNY Gastric Bypass, No NSAIDs, No Blind NG Tube, and finally has a phone link to emergency contacts including my RNY surgeon. Hope that helps.  You don't want anyone in an ER (if you can't speak) giving your NSAIDs or sticking an NG tube in.

Best,
Mike

I have one but I don't wear it most of the time. Not saying that is good or bad. I sometimes wear it if I am out walking on the beach or something like that. I might wear it if I was traveling. But the local hospital has my records and my Lap RNY scars don't really show but my lbl scars are still pretty obvious...I do think it is good to have one and to probably wear it! If they ever do those chips with your medical information on it I might do that...scan me first please!
