I've become sooo.....
GIRLIE!!!!
I said it.
Before surgery I really didn't give a hoot about all this stuff. The only thing I bought from a "Health and Beauty" department was deodorant, and razors.
I wore men's clothes because it was easy. The shirts were longer too and helped disguise the belly fat.
Now I get my eyebrows waxed a month, I buy WOMEN'S clothing, I like all the smelly body washes, can't forget all the fancy razors they have too, oohhh and I started painting my toenails too which look so cute in sandals! I straighten my hair and you should of seen me in the hair care section at Target. I was beyond lost. Someone recommended a few products and I had NO clue what they were. Lets not forget sexy undies too...
I guess for most ladies that stage begins somewhere around 14-15. I just skipped it all together and hid myself in what I thought was comfortable. I was never a dirty person. I showered, put on deodorant, but that was the extent of me getting ready for the day. I didn't care about my appearance. As long as I had clean clothes on and I was showered ..I was ready to go!
I my RNY!!!!

Isn't it great to discover yourself! I was always kinda girly, but now...watch out! I never wore heals and cute little dresses before, but now they are a regular part of my wardrobe. I wish I was younger so that I coul enjoy all the Jr. fashions. Oh well.

Looking for a possible revision.

Well I just wanna say CONGRATs to discovering the new you! Or maybe its the old you .. that was just waiting to be discovered! Either way.. (Happy dance)
I think I was definately more girlie when I was smaller. I took more time to "fix up" The larger I got... the more relaxed I became - never wearing makeup - slouchy clothes - etc. Of course my short hair gives the common conception that I am "butch". Funny, cause on the inside I definately feel girlie... (sexy undies, makeup, nail salon, u name it)
I cant wait to drop the pounds and get back to my old self! I am sure in a rut! GRRR

I know before I put on a lot of my weight I used do a lot more of that kind of thing but I don't think there's ever been a point where you'd call me "girlie." I mean, I'd do my nails and stuff like that but I was what some one called "refined butch." I'm really lookin forward to getting back to that. It's amazing how putting on weight can make you forget to pamper yourself.
Hey, Brooke.
The exact opposite thing happened to me. Now that I'm thin, I've become quite the "man," skipping baths, excreting my scent all over everything and saying "rowr" to everyone who passes. Actually, when I was bigger, I was more of a girly-boy, see-
Hehehe... Actually, that's a Halloween picture from 2003 taken at my brother's restaurant. I really never did drag, although there's nothing wrong with a guy wearing women's clothes. Just not my preference.
I can relate, however. When I was in the upper 300's, my closet was full of clothes that no longer fit me and about a dozen or so 4XL Hanes solid t-shirts, in a variety of colors that was pretty much all that I wore. I had one or two polos and maybe one button-up acquired from the Big and Tall section at Burlington Coat Factory. Like you, I was a clean guy, bathed regularly and kept everything dry (thankfully, even when big I was never much of a sweater.) My hair was low maintenace, I usually just shaved it short where I didn't have to worry about it.
Now, it's an entirely different story. Because everything I wore before was solid, I cannot stand solid clothes now. All my clothes are form fitting and range from S-M sizes. I now own about half a dozen three piece suits. I like to wear cologne (I loved A&F Fierce, tho finding it here is impossible) or maybe a couple of sprays of Axe. My hair thinned to where it's managable, I wear it a bit longer on top and use an array of product, from Redkin to that German hair glue (for when I need my faux hawk to last through, well, you know...)
It seemed like before, we knew with our size that we stuck out like a sore thumb, so we worked to minimize our appearance. Personally, I wore nothing that I knew would draw any additional attention to me. Now that we know we look good, we want the world to see us. There's no more fading into the background, we want to be in the spotlight for everyone to see.
It's unfortunate the way we gays segregate ourselves among each other. I know some lesbians who would call your transistion to a girlie girl some kind of selling out. A betrayal to all of the proud butches out there. Howvever, what is happening is a celebration of your individuality, personality and the new you. So flaunt it. Let them be envious.
A little OT, but I will be on and off the next week or so. My dad is in hospital again with another staph infection. We took him to the ER yesterday. I'm sure he'll be fine, but I'll be out quite a bit. I'll still visit the boards if I can, but don't foresee a lot of time to post. [/hijack]
Cheers,
Chris

LOL! Chris. I love the picture!!! You have a great post as usual!
Well thankfully (I guess thankfully) I was never butch to begin with. More like soft-butch. Wore mens clothes but LOVED pink and felt girlie on the inside, just didn't know what to do with myself. I felt like styling my hair and attempting make-up was pointless with my large size. (I know some large women like the way they are but I didn't). So if people want to be haters they can be - I love it any way LOL!
Any who, sorry to hear about your Dad. I had a staph infection about 1 month after surgery. One of my incisions got it. It was painful and it sucked big time!!! It cleared up though within a few days with antiobiotics.
