lapband
whooo hoooo! Congrats to you. The time will fly by! Feels great to know you're heading on a new path to control your health doesn't it?

As far as advice. I haven't been banded yet. I go in May 5th. But I have a bag packed already... loose clothes for my walk out, CHAPSTICK, (that's been hammered into my head lol) Sip your drink and WALK to get the gas moving and out. Take it easy and remember this isn't an over night thing. I don't think any of us put this weight on over night, so it ain't coming off that way, no matter what type of surgery ya opt to have.
I wish you much luck and success!
*warm thoughts and big smiles*
*edited because I cannot spell this early in the morning lol*

The procedure is fairly quick and the recovery is too. Really.
My Story:
I was banded in Oct. of '07 and I was sure this procedure was for me.
It was not, as it turned out and I am having further surgery to remove the band and have the bypass on June 2nd.
My advice: really really really understand that the band is a tool. Really understand that you will be dieting with the help of the band for the rest of your life. You will, unless you come to terms with this, be able to gain weight with the band.
Please understand you will have to change your diet to have this work.
As you progress you will experience restrictions from the fills and they are unpleasant but not
life threatening.
I "flunked" lap band. Could not stick with the diet foods. My fills never really restricted me. I am an unusual case. I have friends who have done very well with it. You will do well I am sure.
