I don't know about anybody else but I need to take a while to get over the shock from one of my most beloved actresse's death. Bea Arthur was 86 years old when she died today from cancer. It's a sad day, indeed.

GAH!  Aw, that's sad.  First I've heard of it.  She'll be missed - one of the greats.

Moment of silence...

Dorothy was always my favorite Golden Girl.  Every stupid little quiz I took (but one, I think) said that I was Dorothy Zbornack.  Rest in peace, Bea Arthur.  You will be surely missed.  But you've achieved immortality through all of the Golden Girl episodes I have on my hard drive.

SHe hit her own when she played Maude. She and Archie used to banter back and forth all of the time.

It is a very sad day. She will be missed by many; and she will live on forever in our hearts through her wit and humor. Thank you for all the laughs over these years Dorothy Zbornak! We love you! R.I.P.

One can't pay homage to Ms. Arthur without mentioning her incredible role as Vera in the movie/musical remake MAME with Lucille Ball.  Two comic genuises at work...  Very few musical moments/songs as biting as Friends...after the death of Mame's husband Beu when they meet up in a restuarant for drinks....

Another great performance was her guest starring role as the babysitter in the season one finale of Malcolm in the Middle.  Hilarious!  In fact, she was nominated for an Emmy) or a Golden Globe, I can't remember) for the performance.

I watched a few Golden Girls episodes yesterday.  One of my favorite lines of hers is when Blanche is trying to tell the girls about how she met George.  Well, the story veers off into how she met all of these other men first.  I love how Dorothy just screams out, "I could get herpes listening to this story!"  I loved her.  Always the *****

She will be missed.

Cheers,

Chris
