HeyThere
Just wanted to say a heartfelt "Howdy" to all the LGBTQQ folks out there. I just found out about this site thanks to a wonderful lady LesbianVoice, who I desperately want to come back and sing in our Lesbian choir because she has the most beautiful voice.
As for me, I'm a Kaiser patient going through all the hoops, have been for a bit under a year and I'm just working on losing my 10% so that I can get my date.
I look forward to the learning and laughter that you all clearly bring to this place

Nice to meet you danni!
Hiya Danni..... welcome to the board! I am a newbie as well! Everyone here is so great! They all have lots of great advice and comments to give. My insurance requires a 6 mo diet/weight loss plan so Im only in month 2 of that... cant wait to get a surgery date (around Aug or Sept). Good luck on getting your date!
Anyways..... Look forward to your posts!

Welcome!
OH, and in particular this forum, have been invaluable for me during this process. On OH, I learned about the types of surgery, typical pre-op process, insurance issues, common complications, typical surgery experience and common post-op diet requirements.
This particular forum is wonderfully supportive and particularly inwardly looking.

Welcome danni. As the others have said this is a very supportive group. You are invited to share pretty much anything, any questions, concerns, angst, successes... all of it because it's a multifaceted journey (mixing metaphors, sorry).
Be sure to keep us all up to date with hor you are doing. And yeah, Ms Heather is the bomb. BTW... where are you and which Kaiser. I'm in Oakland and did my surgery at Richmond. They have a great support group and you are welcome any time, even if you are at a different KP.
Hugz,
Raven
