I just found out my primary care physican is recommending the Lap Band surgery for me. I did call the insurance company today and I am waiting for them to call me back  to find out more about what they will cover and what they won't cover.

Thanks for the note you sent me. I was a little surprised that my primary doctor said this to me. I was suppose to go to the seminar last night but got lost as it was 35 miles from where I live. So I am rescheduling the seminar this morning.

I am thinking this is the best thing for me, with my type II diabetes, sleep apena, and arrhirtis.

If that is your option of choice....then go with it.

Make sure you are aware of ALL your options is what I was told when I started this thing.

At first I thought, the balloon, then the band, then I chose the VSG.

Lots of people have good success with lots of options.

Welcome.....Jane

The balloon is where they insert a un-inflated balloon into your tummy to make you feel full.  Then they inflate it.....there fore causing restiction.
It can only be in for 6 months max.

It wasn't for me, I wanted a permanent solution with no malabsorbtion of dumping.  VSG for me!

Welcome! Research all the options so that you make the right decision for surgery. Just don't go with what your PCP suggest.
