I met with my surgeon today and I am down another 8lbs...That's a total of 21 pre op! Wow...I am pretty amazed and proud of myself. My surgeon said that I am doing a great job and will only have to do a liquid diet 2 days before the big day! It's really sinking in....this is really happening.
I had a strage moment of hey I just lost 21 pounds in a little over a month....I can do this...I dont need surgury... Then I looked a a pic of myself that was taken today...an official "Before" pic and I was like.. Whoa! Crazy that I do not feel as big as I look in that pic. So I pushed that feeling aside pretty quickly.

I also carried my scale with me in my backpack and whipped it out to calabrate it with my surgeons...that got a chuckle from the office staff...I am gonna do my best to not become scale obsessed.

Thanks for listening...if i could haul my ass up to my roof I would be shouting it out to whoever would listen.

So proud of you Honey!!! And so did the insurance get all worked out, money-wise and stuff? Did I miss that? You are still able to have the surgery and on what date? I want to get this all down right so I can make sure I'm sending you good juju that day! I have a special red taper candle I got just for you... red is the color of healing, blood you know! :)

I don't think it's bad to become scales obsessed, as long as you aren't trying to weight more than once a day. I weigh every day that I can. I didn't of course this weekend at the hotel but did the very next morning I was home. I only weigh as soon as I get up and pee and then write it down. It sets the tone for success every day. I will do this for the rest of my life to keep my focus. To me that's reasonable. More than once a day, not so much because your weight only goes up during the day, not down ... and who wants to see that.

So was that you I heard shouting earlier... sure sounded like it. *g*

That is too funny, because I want to take my scale to calibrate too.  What I have done is weigh first thing after my shower before dressing and then got fully dressed and I noticed it added 4 lbs.  My last appointment was at 9:20am so I did not eat or drink anything before I weighed and the doctors scale was almost exact with what I had weighed myself at with my clothes on before leaving the house.  Did I lose you there??? LOL  I can say that I am scale obsessed.  I too weigh everyday and several people have told me to stop, but I can't.  My scales before dressing this morning showed me down 17lbs since 3/13, so I know exactly how you are feeling.  It is wonderful and I can't wait to get to the other side.

Good luck and keep up the good work!!!!!

Yeah, I did that questioning thing too. Lucky for me I didn't listen to my brain and did the surgery.

Congrats on the loss. It's a great start.
