Ok.... this may be gay (and where else but here to post gay? )

but....

what would be your personal theme? If yours was a reality tv show, what would you have as your opening theme?

Would you have a different one for season one (Pre Op)? Would you have a different theme song for season two (post-op)?

Ok, I'll start.

My song is neither season one or two.... pre or post op.... it's just me right now! lol Its Lady Gaga's Just Dance! I crank up the radio each time it is on, it motivates me to get up off my arse! It makes me proud to be gay!

Oh oh, yeah

I’ve had a little bit too much
All of the people star to rush (start to rush by)
A dizzy twister dance
Can’t find my drink or man
Where are my keys?
I lost my phone

What’s goin’ on, on the floor?
I love this record baby but I can’t see straight anymore keep it cool
What’s the name of this club?
I can’t remember but it’s alright, a-alright

Chorus:
JUST DANCE!
Gonna be ok
Da da doo doot-n
JUST DANCE!
Spin that record babe
Da da doo doot-n
JUST DANCE!
Gonna be ok
D-d-d dance, dance, dance, just
J-J-JUST DANCE!

Wish I could shut my playboy mouth
How’d I turn my shirt inside out (inside out right)
Control your poison babe
Roses have thorns they say
And we’re all gettin’ hosed tonight!

What’s goin’ on, on the floor?
I love this record baby but I can’t see straight anymore keep it cool
What’s the name of this club?
I can’t remember but it’s alright, a-alright

Chorus:
JUST DANCE!
Gonna be ok
Da da doo doot-n
JUST DANCE!
Spin that record babe
Da da doo doot-n
JUST DANCE!
Gonna be ok
D-d-d dance, dance, dance, just
J-J-JUST DANCE!

When I come through on the dance floor checkin’ out that catalogue
Can’t believe my eyes so many women without a flaw
And I ain’t gonna give it up, steady trying to pick it up like a call
I’m a hit it up beat it up latch on to it until tomorrow yeah

Shorty I can see that you got so much energy
The way you twirlin’ up them hips round and round
And there is no reason at all why you can’t leave here with me
In the meantime stay let me watch you break it down and

Chorus:
DANCE!
Gonna be ok
Dad a doo doot-n
JUST DANCE!
Spin that record babe
Dad a doo doot-n
JUST DANCE!
Gonna be ok
D-d-d dance, dance, dance, just
J-J-JUST DANCE!

Half psychotic sick hypnotic got my blueprint it’s symphonic
Half psychotic sick hypnotic got my blueprint electronic
Half psychotic sick hypnotic got my blueprint it’s symphonic
Half psychotic sick hypnotic got my blueprint electronic

Don’t slow! Drive it, clean it Lysol, bleed it
Spend the last dough (I’ve got it) in your pocko (I’ve got it)

Chorus:

Hah!  I posted this same question a couple of months ago!  I'm curious if anyone's answers have changed...

My theme right now's still the same: Gnarls Barkley's "Going On".  The lyrics are creepily appropriate to my frame of mind over the past year.

Going On
I've seen it with my own eyes
How we're gettin' otherwise
Without the luxury of leavin'
The touch and feeling of breath
And times you're both technically
Something you've got to believe in
Connect the cause and effect
One foot in front of the next
This is the start of a journey.
And my rhyme is already gone
Somehow this doesn't concern me.

And you can stand right there if you want
But I'm going on
And I'm prepared to go it alone
I'm going on
To a place in the sun that's nice and warm
I'm going on
And I'm sure they'll have a place for you too oohoohooo

Anyone that needs what they want, and doesn't want what they need
I want nothing to do with
And to do what I want
And to do what I please
Is first thing on my to do list
But every once in a while I think about her smile
One of the few things I do miss
But baby I've to go
Baby I've got to know
Baby I've got to prove it

And I'll see you when you get there
But I'm going on
And I'm prepared to go it alone
I'm going on
May my love lift you up to the place you belong
I'm going on
And I promise I'll be waiting for you oohoohooo

Freedom is
Still I try I never know what to do
Don't follow me...

Okay, I'll play.  I guess, Pre-Op, my theme would be "Grace Kelly" by Mika-

Do I attract you?
Do I repulse you with my queasy smile?
Am I too dirty?
Am I too flirty?
Do I like what you like?

I could be wholesome
I could be loathsome
I guess I'm a little bit shy
Why don't you like me?
Why don't you like me without making me try?

I try to be like Grace Kelly
But all her looks were too sad
So I try a little Freddie
I've gone identity mad!

(Chorus)
I could be brown
I could be blue
I could be violet sky
I could be hurtful
I could be purple
I could be anything you like
Gotta be green
Gotta be mean
Gotta be everything more
Why don't you like me?
Why don't you like me?
Why don't you walk out the door!

How can I help it
How can I help it
How can I help what you think?
Hello my baby
Hello my baby
Putting my life on the brink
Why don't you like me
Why don't you like me
Why don't you like yourself?
Should I bend over?
Should I look older just to be put on your shelf?

I try to be like Grace Kelly
But all her looks were too sad
So I try a little Freddie
I've gone identity mad!

(Chorus)

Say what you want to satisfy yourself
But you only want what everybody else says you should want

(Chorus) 2x

Mika wrote it after a meeting with a music executive.  He was frustrated by the experience; he knew he had many talents, but it seemed that no matter what he did, the executive never responded positively.  Before WLS, that was my attitude.  What can I do to make you happy?  Why don't you like me?  Screw my own health and happiness.  It was all about what everybody else thought, as I physically let myself go.  Like Mika, I thought positively enough of myself that I knew I could somehow make everyone happy, but how?

Post-Op, I guess my theme would have to be "Comfy in Nautica" by Panda Bear-

Try...  Try...  Try...  Try...  Try...  (repeated)
Try to tell me how to do it,
Only because I'm new to it.
Coolness is having courage,
Courage to do what's right.
I'll try to remember always,
Just to have a good time.

Try to show me that you know me,
Do you know what coolness really is?
Winning is what you want to,
But you're scared to go forth.
You try to remember always,
Always to have a good time.
Good time...  Good time...  Good time...
Good time...  Good time...  Good time...
Good time...  Good time...  Good time...

Try and have a softer inside,
Shut up boy and be a soldier.
Coolness is having courage,
Courage to do what's right.
Try to remember always,
Just to have a good time.

Winning is what you want to,
Winning but you're scared to go forth.
Try to remember always,
Always to have a good time.
Good time...  Good time...  Good time...
Good time...  Good time...  Good time...
Good time...  Good time...  Good time...

The word "try" is repeated in the background as the song is being sung (or some would say chanted) as well as being used many times in the main lyrics.  The lyrics can be interpreted many ways, and this is my take on them.  The third line says, I'm new to it.  Something has changed, putting me in a new place.  In this new place, there are more opportunities as well as people who want to be my friend.  And everyone is so worried about what makes you cool or accepted, even to the point of wanting to take advantage of me because of my "newness."  But the song goes beyond that surface when tied into the title, Comfy in Nautica (an older brand of clothing.)  Say, if I refuse to wear Nauitica (or A&F, or Brooks Brothers, etc.), I'm unaccepted by a certain group but praised by another.  If I do wear Nautica, I'm seen as cool by some and a douchebag by others.  Fuck it.  I wear Nautica because I find it comfortable; I'm Comfy in Nautica.  The fact that I wear Nautica (or A&F or Brooks Brothers or freaking Route 66 for that matter) doen not mean I'm making any kind of statement.  I just like it.  (Of course, the song is not about clothes but about life in general.)  And, like the song says in the end **** it all, take a few risks instead of being bound by your expectations and let's have a good time.

I like the way these two songs tie into each other.  In "Grace Kelly," all I cared about was making other people happy.  What can I do for you?  In "Comfy in Nautica," it's all about being comfortable with myself no matter what anyone else thinks.  Life is a growth process, and these two themes surely show how I've grown (ironically, while shrinking.)

Damn, Drachen, thanks for making a slow, rainy Monday when I should have been resting into one where I'm racking my brain thinking up themes before writing a freaking essay about it.  I should have just made myself happy and put my ass in bed.

Cheers,

Chris

Strangely enough I don't. I think of my life more as in before the hubby and after the hubby. Surgery is just one thing that happened during the after part.

I shall now be know as Hagatha: Queen of the queens.

Kk, here is a shout out to all the recently sexually liberated!

Johnny Dangerous,

Dirty is the new black

Do you like to play dirty
Or do you play clean
Do you like your coffee black
Or with a little cream?
Does the thought of getting caught
Really turn you on
Or is the fear too much
So you do no wrong
Have you ever been told
What you can’t do
Because of all the ****
People hang on you?
Afraid to let it out
And let you be you
Seems a bit too much
So you repress that too
I’m here to let you know
That you ain’t alone
We like the same type of things
Others won’t condone
You can talk to me
If you can’t talk to them
And I won’t be judgmental
Like your lame-ass friends
None of ‘em get it
Cuz they’ve all be trained
To hide just what they like
‘Cuz they feel ashamed
But me, on the other hand
Don’t give a damn
I embrace who I am
So **** they understand if
