MONDAY'S AARON UPDATE
Good morning everyone!! I was in NYC on Saturday, COMPLETELY unaware that Aaron had been suffering with extreme diarrhea and that his cellulitis had "spread" up his leg. He texted me yesterday and said he was back at the hospital and that he was scared. Poor baby!! He also texted me a picture of his lower leg - O M F G!!! It was huge and ugly.
I was hoping they would keep him, as he was severely dehydrated and they were suspecting antibiotic induced diarrhea (where the meds kill ALL of the bacteria - good and bad - in the intestines), but tests for that and other things came back negative, which was a relief.
Unfortunately, they DIDN'T keep him, and about 10:15 last night, he sent me a final text saying he was waiting to be released.
I texted him this a.m., but haven't heard anymore from him as of yet. I will keep you updated.
Thanks,
Tia

Thank you Tia for the update. I'm so worried for him. He really needs to be admitted and put on IV fluids and IV antibiotics until this is under complete control. I want to just slap the hospital and doctors who keep sending him home. WHAT ARE THEY THINKING?
Give him a huge hug for me when you can!!!

Tia, I so worry about that boy! I agree he needs to be admitted and put on antibiotics. My friend Dave is going through a similar thing. He just returned home after over a week in the hospital with heavy does of antibiotics and pain meds. It is nothing to fool with. -- Tom
