alright....since my leave of absense, I don't think I saw any of these........tell me your inner most secrets.....what have you been eating????????

I will have to admit that while I was on vacation, my eating habits were all over the place.  It was the first time that I had beef (hamburger) and I must say that it was really good....but sat like a ROCK.  so I think I'll stick to my veggie burgers.  I also didn't eat enough.....I think I had been surviving on maybe 500 calories a day....i know it's bad but when you're on vacation or at least when I'm on vacation, I just wanna go go go and not think about eating LOL

so yesterday, even with a day off my eating wasn't stellar but was starting to get back to normal

b - slept through it

l - 3 slices of fat free cheese (hey there's 5 grams of protein in each slice...who'da thunk!) and roasted garlic triscuits

d - my crustless pizza.  god I love that stuff!

not a whole lot on the fluids although I did cut out some caffeine to break my dehydration.....all my vits.

My eating is going well...with the exception that I seem to have developed a habit of eating 4 to 6 UTZ Extra Dark Pretzels at night - I'm eating these as I'm drinking my water, so I know this isn't right.  However, since I've been eating them I've been losing regularly...so for now I'll continue.

Anyway....on the regular I'm eating:

b - cereal with fat free milk

l - sugar free applesauce w/ protein, sugar free pudding w/ protein or sugar free jello, and a fat free cheesestick

d - chicken or fish fixed in some kind of fashion with a sauce (I have to use a sauce, ketchup, or some other dipping product with my meats and fish or I froth...not pleasant) and a couple of veggies

Brid, I'm the same way.  If my protein doesn't have a sauce, it doesn't go down (or stay down) with the exception of shrimp.  Maybe because shrimp is so moist.

Here's my food from yesterday:

B: Green smoothie
S: Skinny Vanilla latte, a few bites of a cookie my DD left in the car
L:  3 oz shrimp with yogurt&dill on 4 whole wheat stone thins
S: 2 squares 70% dark chocolate (someone brought to office)
D: Eggfaces shrimp artichoke casserole (yum!)(about 3/4 cup)
E: 4-5 potato chips (which I promptly threw up)

So I had kind of had one of those days where I let cir****tances control my food, ie my daughters cookie, people bringing food to the office, stealing chips out of my wife's bowl...  If food is there I still eat it, I'm still an addict.  Sigh....

hey Brenda!

You know there's no sense in beating yourself up over it.....at least it wasn't a WHOLE bar of chocolate (or two or three) that you ate and it wasn't a WHOLE bage of chips either.....you've spent your life beating yourself up over these things which forces you to go down that slippery slope of emotional eating......all you can do is shrug it off and start a new the next day.  No one can change their habits in a day my dear...it takes time :)  HUGS!

Yeah, we were naughty while Papa Bear was gone. LOL

Yesterday... ummmmm... I've been giving it a try not writing down my food but here's the low-down as I remember.

b - 1/2 cottage cheese with shredded carrot and broccoli.

l - 1/2 cup Eggface-type (modified) casserole.

d - Tapas - OMG... I've never been to a tapas bar before. It was amazing. Had dinner with a wonderful butch friend (hawt)... Oh, food, yeah... right... ummmm. I did have a martini (cucumber and rosemary which was amazingly strange and good). Bites of tapas... seared tuna and crab cake; baby beets with greens; goat cheese; plate of tiny bits of italian cold cuts, three cups of decaf with 1/2&1/2. Dinner was two hours long. Passed up all the bread, no dessert. :)

Question: Does the alcohol and caffine hit you faster now? Does the buzz last longer?

Well, and here's the confessional part... I don't do caffeine at all... one of the things we have to quit before surgery beause it will eat holes in your pouch.

As for the alcohol, not supposed to do it at all either but I do very, very rarely. And yes, the buzz hits almost instantly and I can only handle a few sips. But the buzz also is completely gone in about 20 minutes. So not, the buzz does not last.

See the alcohol has no stomach to go to now to be absorbed so it goes right to the intestines and hits full strength. So our BAL hits the moon really fast. But it also goes right to the liver and is filtered out really fast. This is hard on the liver and another reason we shouldn't drink alcohol. Once in a blue moon, though, I am allowing myself and only 1/2 a drink. Last night the idea of a cucumber/rosemary martini just couldn't be resisted. But I won't have any more alcohol probably for another month or more.

The ideal is to not do either every again. That's the ultimate goal. But it's also a journey and I'm at a point where I'm practically at goal and need to not feel like I'm so deprived... which is another part of my journey that I'm working on. But during the weight-loss phase to this point, I have had no alcohol or caffeine.
