Pannus and Pants
I am really struggling to find pants that fit. My waist and legs are not a problem but the zipper, front seam etc. splits the pannus and makes it super obvious as round bulges to each side. The stretchy waist MIB pants I like (big around the pannus) don't come in a smaller size and the pairs I am still wearing want to fall down if I put keys or a phone in the pockets. I am waiting for them to fall down at work . . . I am having this trouble with underwear too (escaping fat). Do I need to wear one of the slimming suits, with legs? I can't really imagine being bound in every day, all day at work. Any ideas and/or your experiences are appreciated.
Thanks, Meg
Thanks, Meg
I love Spanx. I got mine at Lane Bryant. It's very comfortable. I got the one that comes part way down the thighs and it pulls up to near the bra line. It doesn't roll down or up. I actually feel really good in it. It makes me feel firm and confident. You can get them in different leg lengths too. I don't know that I'll ever be able to afford PS, so when I want to look smooth, on goes the Spanx.

Meg,
thanks for this post, it's something I worry about after weight loss and I am hearing that insurance will not approve tuck surgery..anyone hear that? Anyway..
I am pretty sure I am going to have a major pannus issue. I already do. I am older I think than many if not all of you and had 3 children many many years ago..My pannus has a life of its own already...
Are you guys familiar with Junonia. I teach water aerobics 4X a week and buy their expensive but long lasting chlorine resistant bathing suits. They work fabulously for me. Their clothes are very good quality and they have great sales.
I will check out the u-wear suggestions..thx

I was told by my plastic surgeon that insurances do not cover tummy tucks. It's cosmetic. However, my insurance (and most insurances) covered my panniculectomy. They remove the pannus and thats it - no tucking, tightening, or making pretty. It's not considered a cosmetic surgery so you could probably get that covered down the road.
I really like a lot of the Junonia clothes, though I have never really liked pants from them. I much prefer the Making it Big pants and t-shirts, though now they don't fit. As for Junonia sales - some great deals !!! I just bought a bunch of stuff really, really cheap!!! I bought my first bathing suit in a long time in my last order.
I agree about the clothes..mostly very good quality. Love their bathing suits as I said and have been happy with them for years.
I am sure I will still be of a size to continue to wear their clothes after... The one issue I have is the petite are still too long for me but I do have a tailor..Girlzzzz, you must have a tailor...
Does anyone think that there should be specialty clothes for women with pannus issues?
