Feeling Discouraged (Vent)

What a day! I had a feeling that I would get my Date today. Somehow I forgot my cell phone at home.
I checked my voice mail and the Dotors office called but they said...ohhh we have changed our procedure a little bit. We need to you to come back in for another appointment - so we can get a weight on you. Prior to selecting a date and submitting to insurance. Not to mention another copay!
I already have to Pay a 250 admin fee above my deductable and all of my copays....now another copay just to be weighed?? Also that doesnt take into account time off of work!   Sigh...I am worried that even though I am doing all of the right things I am not losing fast enough....they want to see 10-15lbs gone before surgery. I alos have to figure out how to raise $500 to pay my copay prior to surgery.

So Frustrated!

Would it be another co-pay for that or would it just be a quick in and out?

Good luck on all of this. For me this was the most frustrating time there was.

Do you drink coffee or pop? You could make your own coffee at home if you buy it out and get a two liter and put it into bottles. It's way cheaper that way.

I just called and confirmed that there would not be a copay.  Whew!!

I go on Thursday.

Thanks for the tips...I actually gave up coffee and soda  as prep for surgery.
I have to say that for teh most part the soda thing has been ok....it is hard sometimes because my job gives us free soda....but luckly we also get free crystal lite :)

Unfortunately, you have multiple hurdles besides the weight loss and dealing with the insurance and the financial part of it can make the weight loss even more of a challenge because it stresses you out and takes your focus away from taking good care of yourself.

Remember the more weight you lose before surgery the better your chances are long term of losing it and keeping it off. So try to look at it this way... if it takes a little longer to get your surgery date, that is just that much more time you can work on taking off as much weight as possible. Focus on yourself, your journey, your success. Keep to the routine of the diet and find other, more healthy ways to work out the stress.

I know, easier said than done but that's the best I can do for you. LOL.... just remember you, your life and the people who love you... it's worth it.

Thanks...yes it has been STRESS city here. F's heath is declining rapidly and we are existing literally paycheck to paycheck...tough times....at the same time I am blessed that I have insurance that makes this even a possiblity. I have no idea yet how I will manifest the funds to make this happen...I just keep moving forward as if....
I did invest in a Biggest Loser Workout DVD ...I really like the kick boxing part :)

Thanks for all of your encouragement.

Dude this part is the most fustrating.. but it will all be worth it in the end... just remenber to breath and do it.. I would ask for clarification on the co-pay i don't think you'll need to pay it again if its just a weigh in..  for the weight lost prior to operation... My doctor put my on an all liquid diet 2 wks b4 surgery  i lost like 18 lbs in those 2 weeks.. it was hard especially since Thanksgivning fell in the middle of all that... but he did let me eat a small soft meal on thanksgiving..

I also had to deal with insurance pains.. so I decided to get on the phone with them and conferance in my doctors office when ever possible to speedy up the referral and authorization process.

good luck

Thanks Alfonso! Thanks for the reminder to breathe...  I may have to do the all liquid diet too if I dont lose enough... I am concerned that after my  "weigh in" they are going to say well you need to lose ______ more before we submit to insurance. I have been doing all the right things so I should be ok on the scale when I weigh in on Thursday.

Thanks for the support

Just remember that people spend more than this on a down payment on a car all the time, and this will change the rest of your life!!!  It is so worth the investment!  Try to breathe and not stress yourself out!  That just slows down the weight loss!  You can do it!
