wanting to know about post surgery happenings
Appetite loss ~ at 4.5 years post-op, I still don't feel physical hunger.
Energy loss ~ mine was back to normal by 3 months post-op.
Sex drive (more or less?) ~ mine is definitely less, but I've been with my partner for 19 years, so...
Weight loss..rapid? slow? ~ 125 pounds lost in 13 months.
Bodily functions? same or changed? ~ poop way less in volume, but still going nearly daily, diarrhea for first 18 months, constipated most of the time now.

Appetite loss - of course.
Energy loss - in the beginning totally. But I feel 100% now.
Sex drive (more or less?) - MORE!!!!
Weight loss..rapid? slow? - my weight loss was pretty fast I think. I reached my goal around 7 months post op.
Bodily functions? same or changed? - same
Appetite loss - yup. rarely FEEL hungry. Still working on teaching my brain that I'm not really hungry.
Energy loss - yes, but following instructions on vitamins and food has really helped out, as well as getting to the gym.
Sex drive (more or less?) - SEVERLY increased. It's like I'm 22 again.
Weight loss..rapid? slow? - down just about 130 in 8 months. Still want to lose another 30, but the dr says I'm right at where he expected.
Bodily functions? same or changed? - changed for the better. Before surgery I had horrible issues with my digestive system, and would have almost instant bouts of diharreah after some meals, no one could figure out what was causing it. Now I have normal BM's regularly... although they have been a little more difficult in the last couple of weeks. Will need to talk to the Dr about that next time I see him.
Appetite loss - Yes, struggle to eat.
Energy loss - Yes, but I haven't exercized much.
Sex drive (more or less?) - Same
Weight loss..rapid? slow? - Rapid, 100lbs in 6 months, now at goal, 210lbs lost 1 1/2 yrs post -op.
Bodily functions? same or changed? - Soft stool to diarrhea all the time.

Depends on the surgery you are having...
RNY is faster Then LapBand... But,, I fell under the 300 mark with in the first month
I had Lap Band
Hair loss: Im bald anyway,,, but, havent noticed it getting any thinner
Energy about the same if you work out and eat properly it will increase of course
Sex Drive I would have to say has improved.
Appetite comes and goes... You will learn to listen to your body more... My biggest challenge is knowing exactly when Im hungry.. I have to remind myself to eat some days. You have to make sure to keep up with your vitamins and your protein.. Its hard to say what you will and will not be able to tolerate after surgery because all of us are a little different. Don't rush the process that is my biggest advise. Fallow the diet progression as recommended by your doctor and dont skip a step unless your doctor approves of it they do know what they're doing.
Thought everything works the same as it did before Im constently aware that there is something a bit different from before.. Some changes,, Like GAS you just have to experience for yourself. There is some constipation watch out for that.
But, Im pretty much back to normal right now.
Appetite loss- Yes....I am not hungry at all, and have to remember to eat
Energy loss- the second month post op was the worse for me. I was consistantly tired. I forced myself to get up everyday at 5am and excercise. After about 2-3 weeks, I was pretty much back to normal energy levels. I also changed my vitimins from optisource to bariatric advantage and I do feel much better
Sex drive (more or less?)- More
Weight loss..rapid? slow?- I thought my weight loss was slow. 60lbs in 4 months, but doc says I am right on track. Says because I am a lightweight, the weightloss will go slower. I am ok with that because my skin seems to be rebounding pretty well so far.
Bodily functions? same or changed?--Same, just not as much or as often
