A question for my peeps!
I have a friend who was today diagnosed with fibromyalgia. She is obese.
I also had been diagnosed with fibro years ago (before it was considered ligit). I had multiple symptoms, point tenderness that moved around, painful swollen joints, malaise, fatigue, aches and pains, sleep problems, depression, chronic pain to the point where I struggled to get out of bed most days, the gambut. After losing 106 pounds, I have NO symptoms. That is only my experience. In my local group, I've heard of similar experience.
Have any of you been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and as a result of weight loss had any change in your symptoms? What has been your experience?
I'd like to have valid, real information to pass on to her. She is feeling like this is a sentence for disability. I want her to know that it is anything but that and is possibly, like I told her, perhaps a wake-up call from her body to make some changes.
Anyway, I'm interested in other experiences besides my own.
