Nice to see you! Welcome. Congratulations on your continuing success.

I had RNY and my six month anniversary is coming up on the 29th of this month. I've lost a total of 107 pounds and I'm really happy. (52 of that was preop btw).

I hope you'll stick around and post your journey with us. It's a very supportive place to hang.

Glad you stopped by. How did the fill go?  I've never had any problems with my fill. Just curious, does your surgeon use a fluoroscope and/or apply some sort of sedative to the area?  My doesn't. Many people tell me their surgeons do. I really never feel the needle except a small ***** (oops.. did i say that in this forum) What does he tell you to do in terms of eating after the fill?  -- Tom

Yeah he first gave me a shot to deaden the area, but really it was no big deal. The stuff to sip is like Maalox without the minty freshness. Yesterday and today are liquids and for the next two mushies again, and to be careful after that. What about you?

Your experience sounds like what I hear most often. My surgeon does not use anything to numb the area. He does not use fluoroscope. I lay down and then do a crunch to help him locate my port. Actually, since I've lost 60 pounds, it is very obvious where it is. Anyway, he puts in the needle and draws out the existing liquid. He does that to measure if it is where it should be. He then adds it back in with possibly more if I need it. He hired a nurse practitioner to do these fills in the future. She usually assists him and last time I had one, she actually did the fill. He just tells me to "take it easy" on eating the rest of the day. I have usually just eaten softer food that evening. His procedure seems lax compared to others. It has always been a non-event for me.

I have an appointment this Friday and am considering a very small fill, maybe .25cc. I can tell I can eat more and have lost a good bit of weight since my December fill which I have heard losens the band. I am going to wait and see what my loss is this month. I suspect that it is somewhere around 4-6 pounds. If it's less than 4, I'll take the fill. Otherwise, I'll leave it where it is.-- Tom

Welcome!

What's up - well, I'm off today and gonna do the family shopping + one followup doctors appt. Yesterday was laundry and WLS 3 month f/u appt. Nothing historic or romantic.

Oh, surgeon wondered if I would represent the sleeve at his preop seminars. So I guess when he says he thinks I'm doing awsome, he must mean it.
