Holy Bathroom Muscles Batman!

OMG  I am dying.  We had our first football practice sunday, and I am in so much pain I cannot even tell you.  I managed to make it through the practice without supplements, two and a half hours and felt amazing.  The drills were so easy without the sixty pounds I have lost!  The laps were easy to run, the hitting and blocking was more effective!  On the flip side, I cannot get up off the toilet.  The muscles that lift and flex are so angry I cannot even express to you.  So my question for you is what the heck do i need to do nutritionally to heal?  Just protien?  Scott?  Where are my weightlifters?  I am in a horrible amount of pain.  I know it will fade in a couple days, but I need to be back in the gym today and I want to minimize the ongoing trauma.  I have to travel to Corvallis this weekend to hit for the first time, and I want to be ready if I can......

LOL... Barb, the title of this post was too funny to pass by. I suspect even though it is pain, it's good pain since you are doing something you have wanted to do. Keep on trucking! -- Tom

Hey girl...woohoo...way to kick some butt and yours at the same time...hehehe.  I'm not a weight lifter, but I think drinking more water is supposed to help the muscles heal faster and make sure to do some lite stretching before starting your workout today and over the next several days.  I just LOVE that burning sensation...I know, it makes me a weirdo...lol.

Cool that getting back to playing was better than expected!  I enjoyed your YouTube clips too.  I wish I had an answer for your toilet muscle trauma!?!

OMG i had this same problem last week after a killer legs workout. My friend who is a trainer told me to drink more water and the day after whatever caused you to be sore you should do a lot of just CARDIO to get blood pumping to those sore muscles and to get that lactic acid out of there.

Good luck with the pain! it sucks!!

Hi barb:

Same exact experience after my first weight lifting training session..

Just tylenol and sugar free sports drinks (diet Snapple makes a pouch to put in water, and so does Crystal Light) Or Powerade O.

It will never be as bad as the first time, but it takes about 2 to 3 days to get off the toilet without screaming...

I feel for ya.. It's the worse!
I have found a new way of life that has kept me at Goal since 2008.. And keeping it that way!
