I'm off to Oregon!

And food is such a non-issue, I just can't beleive it.
Next week is Spring Break for us and me and my 11 yr old son (yes, just the two of us!) are doing a road trip.  I am so excited.  We leave Vancouver on Sunday, then the first night we'll stay in Chehalis WA  and visit Mt. St. Helens before we start on down the Oregon Coast.
In the past, its all about the food.  I pack enough for an army and then have to worry about what they'll let me take over the border.  Then its all about when we will eat, where we will we eat, what will we eat.  I remember past vacations for the food and restaurants.  I can tell you exactly where to get what food on any major route in BC, Alberta or Ontario.
For this trip, I'm packing no food.  I don't want to.  We will completely wing it.  Stop when we are hungry.  This is completely foreign to me.  But I think this is what 'normal' people do.
Anyways, I will check back in next week and let you all know what it was like and if my theory is correct.

LOL! I chuckled at the 'normal' comment! I travel often and still pack food. Of course 90% of it isn't for me but for the 2 in the back seat who will nag that they are hungry LOL! I don't think I could ever wing it sooo good luck, have fun, and be safe!

Have a great time.. I have been winging it for a year now and LOVE it. We still stop often for the rest of the family, but 90% the time I don't get anything.

It's a whole new life.. Although I will miss the funnel cakes in Santa Cruz this weekend.
I have found a new way of life that has kept me at Goal since 2008.. And keeping it that way!

Isn't it wonderful when life becomes more important than food? I love that feeling... we now eat to live not live to eat... although make sure you plan to get the food that you need. And don't forget your vitamins and water... and oh... okay I'll stop being a hovering mother hen here... have a great time!!!
