what did you eat two to three weeks post op??
Hi,
I'm close to 6 months out RNY. In our program the first 3 weeks were supersoft foods. I ate pudding, cream of wheat, soft egg, cottage cheese, really moist soft foods. Then for the next 12 weeks, I ate slightly more solid foods. Little harder eggs, soft meats (like really moist meatloaf), egg salad, chicken salad, tuna, tuna, and more tuna salad, I even mixed chopped hard boiled egg into my chicken and tuna salad. The first few months are the worst for selection but remember your pouch needs to heal and you don't want to put things in there are are going to irritate it. Tiny amounts (I did 1/4 cup three times a day, no snacks for the first 12 weeks) of soft things work best.
Good luck!
P.S. Forgot to say that was just the way my program told me to eat. Of course, you should do what your program instructs. YMMV. :)
Oh, and also... I don't think head hunger ever goes away. Find ways to trick youself a little. One of the things I do is I have a special herb tea that I like and only use as a treat (for when head hunger gets crazy). It usually helps. Sometimes I just have to complain alot and make everyone around me crazy.

Something that was a life saver for me was Campbells Chunky Vegetable soup (healthy choice) put through the blender. I know this sounds awful...and sadly, it looks pretty nasty, too. But for me this was the tastiest thing on my menu after I got tired of split pea and tomato soups.
Oh, and don't forget you can put unflavored protein powder into any and all soups.

I mixed a little bit of no-sugar added fruit (smashed up in the blender) to cottage cheese...
egg-beaters with a tiny amount of cheese.
tons of tuna salad.
some more tuna salad.
refried beans.
vegetarian chili.
more tuna salad.
yes, the first 3 months sucked most.
but soon after that, I was able to start moving to other soft things like meatloaf, meatballs, etc...
