Gays and WLS
I just wanted to get a few of your opinions on this. When you were really big and fat did you feel like you were accepted within the gay community and could find dates and such? Or is it easier now that you've lost some weight to find dates within the gay community? I'm just trying to get some insight into this topic. I seem to be having some offers from guys which is great but I still feel VERY unnattractive...I hope that that will go away!

Remember you are always welcome up here in YANKEE territory.
When I was my biggest, I never felt comfortable! I was able to get dates, but usually it was like a "friend of a friend introduced us" type of thing. Now that i have lost some, it's totally different. I definitely get more attention now, and sometimes I dont know how to handle it. I've been surprised by some of the guys that have approached me, because I too feel mostly unattractive. I'm trying to deal with it, and I have my moments where I feel confident and secure, maybe even remotely hot, but insecurites come back... I too hope they go away!
Lamce,
I've always been a part of the bear community. It was there that I was accepted, that being big and furry was a good thing. However, as I got bigger I did'nt feel so accepted. I think I was the second biggest guy in our club, The Northeast Ursamen. Towards the end it seemed the only people interested in me were the chubby chasers and they were few and far. Now 11 months after surgery, I'm wearing size medium shirts and 34 jeans. I get looks now, but so far only looks. I was in a relationship recently for 2 months but that is no more-freakin drag queens, but I still loved him anyway.Lance you are an attractive, nice guy. Go out and enjoy life!
Bear hugs always,
Rich

I am a few months farther out than you and I still feel unattractive. I am thinking about seeing a therapist about body image issues. I am hoping that helps. Good luck to you on this aspect. Congrats on getting offers. I haven't had a guy look at me twice. Well, the hubby don't count.
I shall now be know as Hagatha: Queen of the queens.
