When I got to work today I was hungry. I had my monthly lapband consult/fill appointment this a.m. and really hadn't eaten anything all morning. I opened my desk "food stash" drawer to see what I had. It got me thinking, "What does everyone have in their desk drawer to help them curb their appetite during the day between meal. Here is what is in mine.

1. Quaker Weight Control Banana Bread Instant Oatmeal
2. Kashi GoLean Creamy Instant Hot Cereal
3. Crystal Light Singles - Apple/Cranberry, Peach Red Tea, Orange Early Rise, Pink Lemon aide
4. No sugar applesauce cups
5. Fit Smart Cranberry Apple Bars (They have been lingering. I got them on sale and don't  care for them. I'll eat them in the event of a nuclear holocaust.)
6. 3 Bottles of water

I spend roughly 75% of my work time working at home in my office, so I actually have a mini fridge to keep stuff in also.  This is what it has inside:

2 bottles blue powerade zero
3 bottles water
2 SF vanilla pudding cups
3 sticks of light string cheese
3 slices of gouda cheese

My food drawer in my desk has:

2 single serving packets of kashi golean crunch
6 single servings of nectar fuzzy navel protein
Crystal Light - Cherry Limeade, Peach Ice Tea, Ruby Red grapefruit, Fruit punch, blueberry white tea, orange sunrise, Mango red tea

box of South Beach diet high protein bars- cranberry almond
2 SBD bars - cinnamon raisin
6 more bottles of water
gatorade G2 orange - 2 bottles
SF jolly ranchers I didnt even know I had
8 or so packs of SF gum
listerine cinnamon breath strips
4 boxes of altoids that I dont remember buying lol

Hell, there's a Crystal Light drink bar in your office! The South Beach Cranberry Almond Bars rock!  The fuzzy navel protein packets sound super good. Where do you get them?

I dont like to drink normal water most days lol, hence the tons of Crystal Light Flavors.  The nectar packets are available online I know, but I have a friend in LA that works at a vitamin shop that gets me an entire case of them cheap, so I havent looked online for them too much.  They are great though, especially since I travel a lot and got sick of measuring out servings of protein powder into zip loc baggies

Well, even though I haven't had surgery yet, I still try to snack on healthy goodies at work. Right now in my desk drawer I have..2 packs of 100 calorie wheat crackers, 1 low sugar granola bar, 3 sugar free peach tea single packs, and some pretzels. In the frig..I have a Mott's sugar free apple sauce and a yogurt.

I have two jobs and one is at home so I have my entire fridge and pantry; however, at my other job in the city I have a little desk drawer and it are mini baggies. One has vitamins and calcium for when I forget to bring them from home. Another has packets of decaf herb teas and Splenda. I have a baggie of instant decaf coffee. On my program we are not allowed to snack but I have a baggie filled with SF hard candy and I limit myself to no more than 3 per day. We also are not allowed to chew gum. Damn I miss gum. And finally I have the everpresent baggie filled to the max with Emergen-C packets and Crystal Lite packets (I mix them together for a little extra vitamins and it gives the CL a little kick) ... all the flavors that don't contain caffeine.
Just across from my desk is the hot and cold water cooler which rocks!

Raven,  You know...  I was looking at the emergen-C, but was worried cause i thought it was super fizzy.  Just how fizzy is it, and does it bother you at all?  I may need to look into buying some, heard it was on sale at Costco this week.

Not super fizzy at all. And I actually shake it up good in my water bottle with the CL and by the time it's all dissolved, the fizzy is gone. I have an extremely fussy LT when it comes to fizz and I've never had any problem with it. And especially if you let it sit for a couple of minutes the fizz is gone.

I only like the Orange flavor and it mixes well with all the CL flavors. The usual mix of Emergency C is usuall in just like 1/2 cup of water so once you put it in 20 oz... it's weak by itself but when mixed with the CL, add just a little kick.

Ooo!  I want weights in my drawer at work!  That's a great idea!

1> Atkins Advantage Chocolate Chip Granola Bar
2> Atkins Advantage Caramel Chocolate Peanut Nouget bar (tastes like a snickers)
3> Atkins Advantage Caramel Double Chocolate
4> Packet of sunflower kernals
5> Crystal Light singles: Raspberry Lemonade, Fruit Punch and Blueberry White Tea.

I also keep some of the Trader Joes "Indian Fare" vacuum sealed bags at work.  They're usually pretty good, but I have to admit that for some reason I can't convince myself that they're a meal.  They're rich and filling, usually chock full of lentils or chick peas, but they seem more like a soup to me, which means i'm always hungry an hour later if I'm using them as a meal.
