ok....let me ask you something.  i know many of us used to be emotional eaters.....I finally realized that this week when i went grocery shopping to get a few things.

I have had a craptastic week and next week doesn't look any better but I think I grocery shopped according to my mood (I forgot to bring my list with me).

I ended up getting two bags of sugar free chocolate, organic whole grain cereal to snack on along with another box of microwave popcorn (low fat) and some oat bran cereal.  It is a carb fest!!!!!  although most of it is whole grains.....I also got some cheese and coffee creamer (fat free/sugar free)........this is not normal for me LOL

On another note, I've been noticing that I have this perfect circular bruise on both of my kneecaps......it never goes away....I have never banged my knees nor fell on them or anything and I've noticed that my right knee catches now on just about every step I take.  I swear I do not want to go in for knee surgery at this point right now.

Of course all this is just me being paranoid and freakin out and *****y and upset all at once.

I told Tia and she gave me a ***** slap for the groceries and she threatened to "out" me to you guys so I figured I'd do it myself and let the lashings begin (please )

:: long pause ::

About the bruised knees....

:: awkward pause ::

...have you considered knee pads?

:: really long, awkward pause ::

Just sayin.

Seriously, though, it's all good.  We've all had those moments.  It's what we do AFTERWARDS that defines us.

I bought a huge bunch of protein bars, thinking I'd sample them and see which ones work for me.  It wasn't until I brought some in to the office and was filling out a confessional on here that I discovered each bar was a whoppin 400 calories.

Instantly I was thinking - what do I do?  Cut them in half?  Just eat them on the way to the gym for extra energy?  Use as a meal, not as a snack?

The solution:  Just get rid of them.  Now I have a very happy office manager who's about 2 pounds heavier because of me.

Homeless shelters and food banks are desperate for donations, now.  You could be doing good with your oopsie, and you'll feel better for it.

Otherwise, just ration it out.  If you're allowed to eat these things, go ahead and eat them in the very small portions you're allowed - 1 oz of chocolate a week, maybe, or just a handful of that cereal at assigned snack times.

You didn't fall off the wagon YET, man.  Not until the food's in your mouth.  All's good.

ok that's a really good point actually (the donating thing not the knee pads LOL)  When I had my not so great shopping experience yesterday, I actually bought a bag of oreos... yeah i know  WHAT was I thinking?  Anyways I took the unopened package to my neighbor today, just got them out of my house.  I think we all have those moments, and it's ok, it's just how we deal with them.

yeah.....well you know I CAN have this stuff just not snack ont hem so i have to fit them into a meal.  all of these (except for the pop corn and sf chocolate) are whole grains and my nut tells me that if I'm to have a carb, go with a whole grain LOL  I use the SF chocolate as ex-lax LOL and well the popcorn....ummm......there's protein in the butter it's in LMAO!

I seriously I know what you mean.  I did some shopping yesterday when I was not the greatest emotionally, and ended up with way too many carbs.   But then today when I was making breakfast, i took a closer look.  all of the choices I made were mostly whole grains, and not terribly bad for me, which is a huge change from before.  It looks like you did the same thing and while yes you bough a lot of carbsm you arent probably going to eat them all at once!  Just plan them into your meals, which is what I am planning to do with mine.

I hope the knee pain isnt anything serious, I know what you mean about not wanting to have to have surgery right now.
