ok people this is funny...

as y'all know I go to peoples homes and i'm a nurse...

well I have a little asian man...he is from the ming dynasty, about 3000 yesra old...very sweet...

but his wife has that very distrustful look...one time I swear she met me at the door with a meat cleaver...like she was gonna go comer rouge on my ass...

well after 4 months she has started to trust me...so no more cleavers at the front door....she wast to know the exact time i'm coming

and she has fresh hot home made egg rolls waiting for me...with a home made dipping sauce...AAAAHHHHHGGGGGGG!!!!

I tried one...they are good...really good...my lips are still slick from the peanut oil...driving out of the sub division, dumping like a mofo..but what a way to go...

death by egg roll...yeeeee haaaaa

I would go for the meat clever...

My few times of dumping, I would rather do ANYTHING else..

Or chew and spit it into a napkin so you can have her trust WITHOUT the meat clever...

Good Luck!!

I'd say go with the tramp...  Only beacause you are NOT a fat boy anymore and you have changed so many other "fat boy" traights that one is easy when it means pain..

OMG... this is funny... I mean not funny that you were in pain but funny in trying to imagine how you would explain to this ancient crone from another part of the world why you allowed a surgeon to open you up and rearrange your guts so that you cannot eat eggrolls with dipping sauce or about a million other dishes she could prepare for you.

Unless it becomes a consistent pattern, I'd say enjoy the single eggroll and make the old woman and the rest of the household happy while you are there. If it becomes consistent, geezzzz, maybe you could tell her that your company has come up with a new rule about accepting such generous gifts or that maybe you can take it home with you to enjoy later and then dispose of it. Doesn't sound like this woman takes well to hearing "no thank you".  In that case, learn to (peking) duck!!! argh

Good luck with this!

I'm new to this... having LapBand in May...  what is Dumping?   I'm scared....  LOL!

Don't be scared. It's a tool. But my understanding is that people with Lap-Band don't dump. That was what I've  been taught in my classes. YMMV.

It's as a result of the rerouting of intestine in the bypass (Roux-n-Y) surgery. It's where sugar (more than 5 grams at a time) causes a reaction that can be anything from mild nausea to severe symptoms that include shakes, chills, sweats, heart palpitations, nausea, vomiting, cramps, diarrhea for a short while or a long while. It can be one symptom, some symptoms or all. And it varies widely with each person. As well, some people who have had gastric bypass don't get dumping. It's not understood why. It's not fun but it's not harmful (won't kill you).

As well, some people get a mild dumping-type reacton from an overdose of fats but true dumping is only with sugar.

I've had bypass but never had dumping but then again I've never tested it. I don't want to. I want to believe that I'm one of the lucky ones that dump because it's a tool to keep me from eating more than 5 grams of sugar at a time. If I test it and don't dump then the tool is not there for me. If I test it and do, then I'm in pain. So as long as I believe I would, it keeps working as a good deterrent for me.

Hope that answers your question.

Hi there!  We lap banders don't dump, and I really am not sure what it is!  But........I think people with RNY have a bad reaction to sugar.  again not sure!
