Last Dance - AKA Last Meal

I was basically told to enjoy this weekend and start my pre-op diet on Monday so that I didn't have to wait long once insurance approved me.

I just got back from Wendy's (last meal was delayed due to snow)  and my last fatty meal was A Big Bacon Classic and a Frosty.  (I haven't had a Hamburger in forever, nor have I had real fast food in forever)

And now I can't stop singing to myself.

It wouldn't be right if I didn't share with eveyrone because I know how much everyone loves a lil Donna Summer :-)

LOL  well when exactly is your surgery date?  Must be in a couple weeks now since you have to start your pre-op diet!  I'm so excited for you but don't mourn food.....you'll be able to have it again just in a different way and quantity (and not very often LOL).

You're going to be on the loser's bench in no time :)

 I celebrated my last real meal before my surgery with "The Last Supper", a big pot luck dinner where all my friends brought dishes that I'd have to avoid post surgery.  It was a great night and really helped me realize how many people I had in my life that were really pulling for me.

But try not to think of it as your last meal - there will be other burgers in the future, and even if they're smaller you'll probably be making them out of top quality beef and the finest ingredients.  I just recentlly discovered I can have steak again, for example - but I have to go with the filet mignon.  Guess what, though - the portion I need to buy is so small that my new meal of top quality ingredients costs LESS than the larger meals of rib-eyes and tri-tip I used to make!

Trust me, bud, that's not your last meal - it's just your first!

 You should have had Chipotle's or Bob Evan's or Skyline. Damn it I miss all of those since they aint in CT. I have had Bob's since surgery. I was bad, I had a bowl of gravy and a biscut and a piece of sausage. I WILL have skyline sometime again but the Chipotle's is lost forever. 

Love them Wendy's burgers!  We went to one around Christmas and I just had the burger and lettuce and tomato from a Single. Do you know you can ask for a no-carb Single and they will serve it to you in a bowl. Not the same, but it tastes great.

My last dinner out was a big 'ol platter of fried clams and onion rings. My last at home dinner was shake and bake pork chops and a loaded baked potato.
