Ok here's your local ***** holding you accountable for what you're eating (too bad they don't have an S&M smiley cracking a whip LOL)
Here's what I had yesterday
b - 4 strips of veggie bacon and oatmeal
l - cottage cheese with 6 olives and a 1/2 palm full of peanuts
d - veggie burger with a slice of fat free cheddar cheese and a couple sticks of string cheese and about 4 triscuits
100 ounces of fluids and all my vits

Here's mine for yesterday:
b - 1/2 bowl of kashi golean cereal
s- protein shake ( chocolate caramel)
l - spinach salad
s - protein shake ( root beer float)
d - protein shake ( banana creme)
s 2 whole grain crackers
***Spinach decided to not like me yesterday, which explains the severe lack of food for the rest of the day, but today the pouch seems a lot less grumpy
--Edit-- I also did all my vitamins and about 90 oz of fluids

Okay, LMAO about the S&M smiley considering my last post...
I posted what I ate yesterday just before dinner (knowing what I was going to eat for dinner) so I won't be redundant here; however I had gained about a pound and a half the day before so yesterday I went back to being very strict and writing everything down. Today I had lost that pound and a half plus another pound so I surmised correctly. I am the kind of person who has to hold myself strictly accountable with documentation, even though it takes time and I hate doing it. Tomorrow I'll post what I ate today. Still writing it down.
I also set timers on my iPhone for vitamins five times a day, all my meals and an alarm for being able to drink fluids again one hour from the time I'm done eating. Without those alarms I'd be lost.

oh I hear ya. When I work from home on days like today I usually don't eat enough but today I'm sticking with my diet and I never snack which works out pretty good for me. Since I have been unable to go to the gym, I don't need as much protein intake as someone who works out religiously for an hour or 2 a day. So I'm doing well with my protein intake. Now I know most doctors are very different with regards to timing your drinking after you eat. Mine always had the rule of stop drinking 30 minutes before eating and 90 minutes after eating. Well I can't get all my fluids in if I have to wait an hour and a half so I changed that to 30 minutes after eating and that has worked well for me at times. usually i don't think about it and then it is an hour after I ate anyway LOL Glad you're strict on yourself!
Our program is stop drinking 15-20 minutes before and for an hour after. I stick to that pretty religiously because otherwise, I just end up flushing out what I've eaten and I'm hungry again in no time. So it's very selfish on my part.
The concensus with most of my postop friends in our program who are a year or more out is that this program does not give enough protein. I tend to agree and although I'm breaking their rules, adding protein powder to foods I cook as well as adding other forms like beans and nuts and upping my calories a bit has made me feel a lot better. I told my surgeon at my 12-week visit and he said he doesn't approve. It's hard because at some point I had to realize that I may be being "bad" according to them but I'm doing what is right for my body and as long as I feel better and am still losing weight, I'm just going to continue it. I do need to never snack though. That grazing mentality will put it right back on. So if I want a "dessert" I include it in my meal and just eat it last. It's really easy to justify sugar-free candies and low-calorie snacks as okay but they are killer for me. I've realized that it's not only what I'm putting into my mouth, but even more how and why. That's the hardest part.
Yeah, I have to crack my own whip... no one else will.

Let's see....
B> 2 eggs, a few tsps of cottage cheese with pineapples in topped with a couple slices of peach.
s> 1 piece string cheese
L> 5 oz. assorted meats (gyro meat and lula kebabs) and SALAD! (first salad since surgery)
S> Atkins protein bar
D> Grazed at an Inauguration party so amounts unknown but I don't think more than 8 oz over 3 hours. I know, bad me. But I picked at mostly kielbasa, grilled chicken and occasional samples of the awsome cheeses they had. Confession: I did have 3 (3!) fried cod fritters over the hours I was there. Each was the size of a tablespoon, but they were sooo good - hot crispy and salty. I couldn't resist.
Back on track today.
