I was wondering, we do this on the maryland board and I thought it might benefit some of us here (pre and newly post ops) what we all eat on a daily basis.  If we could understand the instructions given to us and maybe come up with new idears for meals it might help us all.....not to mention hold us accountable for what we're digesting.  For accuracy's sake, I always post today for the day before.  If anyone's interested in playing along, by all means tell us what you're eating :)  I'll go first!

yesterday, I had

breakfast - 4 strips of veggie bacon and a packet of quaker weight control oatmeal, cinnamon flavor

lunch - a cup of fat free cottage cheese with 6 olives (I love green olives!!!!)

dinner - a veggie chicken patty with a slice of fat free cheddar melted on top and a couple sticks of string cheese to eat with the left over low carb ketchup and a handful of ka****LC cheese crackers.

I got in about 101 ounces of fluids.....all my vitamins.

Your turn!

on those off days and we all have them.....it's great that you keep a stash of peanuts.....I've become a salt ***** since surgery and I LOVE peanuts.  i use them when I think i didn't get enough protein in the day because at this point, I am to stay away from protein shakes because they slide right through.  good job hon :)

Messy day yesterday.  Let's see....

B> Atkins protein bar (160 calories)

S> Handful of almonds (probably 1 oz, 180 calories)

L> Korean Spicy Chicken (probably 4 to 6 ounces, can't weigh food at work, calories approx 316)

S> Large protein bar I'm experimenting with for pre-gym snacks (holy crap, just checked calories... 400!?!? ARGH! No more of those...!)

S> Syntrax Nectar (apple)

D> 2 chicken thighs (4  ounces each, 2 ounces of bones remaining, 6 ounces tota, 316 caloriesl)

S> Syntrax Nectar (chocolate)

I need more veggies.  Today shall be better.  And NO MORE OF THOSE DAMN PROTEIN BARS....grr.

you know I used to eat the small Pure Protein bars until i was having like 3 a day and i dumped on them!!!!  now i just get all my protein from food.......screw the veggies it's all protein for me for now.  i don't even do the shakes anymore because they just slide right through.

I've decided that my pouch is bipolar, because a portein shake fills me up for a good 2-3 hours, and i usually only use 8 oz of water to make them!   But last night when I ate the shrimp, I was hungry an hour later.... and protein bars are evil for me!  I was eating the South beach diet ones once in a while and they just do not like me.
