Ohbearly posted on the Men's forum our location for those who may not be able to find us...or for those who need our support and friendship....

Here is a response that he got along with a link...... I am pretty offended and angry about it... but maybe I am wrong... opinions????

I am pissed !!! That link is a proxy for are board. That guy is equating Homosexuality with ********ity....I AM NOT AMUSED

This is terrible.  Why can't people just let us be us and live with it.  What an @%$^$

I posted the message because it was a message like that one that brought me here. I am truly glad that Sean posted that message and I found this wonderful supportive group of friends. I posted my message on the boards I chat in: lapband, men, and Ohio. I got no bad feedback from any of the others. When I saw this response I was taken back. It was offensive. I chose not to respond. I felt it would give him the power of negating this board and my message post.

This is the first such response I have found on any WLS board or group. My local group is supportive of my partner and I. There are several other GLBT people in the group who are also treated with respect. On a lapband board I chat on, many positive messages are exchanged with GLBT people about their lives and family. My surgeon's office is so, so supportive. I have taken that for granted it appears. There are ugly faces out there, just hiding.

I guess he thought I was recruiting. Damn, I am still 1 recruit away from getting my toaster oven!

OK I could not help myself...and I posted a reply....go look and see what you think....I know it was not neighborly...but I am just over comments like that.

I saw your response to a "generic" email for the location to the GLBT board.  I am sad for you.  Are you comparing us to having sex with animals?  Because I have sex with a woman...like you...so beautiful...don't you think?  Why not try to open your mind?  You may learn something new and knowledge is power...don't you think?

Why not have a sense of humor?
I responded with a quip because lately the Men's Forum has been inundated with "generic" pitches for vitamin supplements, WLS "therapists," women seeking men with bogus "is it true men with WLS have bigger . . . ", come-ons for subscription WLS related sites, etc. etc.
It seems those of us who have had, or need to have WLS should have thicker skins (figuratively, and literally) than others and be able to recognize a joke.
We all have become so enamoured of our feelings that we can no longer laugh at ourselves.
That said, truly, had I known this was going to personally hurt anyone because they just didn't get it, I'd never have posted it.
Naively, I suspect the satire and the tongue-in-cheek theme would be obvious. My bad for not spelling that out more clearly.

"His response".  I told him a joke is a joke and humor is humor, but has anyone ever demeaned him in such a way.....
