I had mine on 12/8 and have lost about 36 pounds so far.  I am very active and hope to lose 40 by my 6 week check up.  I think it depends on how much you weigh to start with and how much you have to lose.  I also have heard that men lose faster than women.  Congratulations!

hey and welcome!!!  it is normal to lose a lot of weight right after surgery mainly because within the first few days you're losing the IV fluids that they filled you up with.   i know I came home from the hospital weighing about 16 pounds MORE than when i went in.  it was all IV fluids.  don't worry.....you're doing great!  HUGS!

That's fast, but as long as you are getting in your protein (over 10grams), your vitamins, and your fluids, you should be fine. Congratulations!

Sounds normal to me.  I had lost 30 pounds at 2 weeks out.

Contratulations alfonso. That's wonderful. I think each body is unique and each weight loss is unique. As long as you are feeling good, I'd say celebrate. Also know there will come a time when it will slow down and don't get discouraged at the little plateaus. I have had several weeks (not in a row) where I lost maybe 1/2 a pound or nothing. And then, staying good, lost a large amount. The body will do it's thing... just keep up the good work.

And Welcome... I'm new here too.

It can be. I was 346 on surgery day and at 7 months I was 211. There were weeks I would lose 10 pounds. As long as you feel ok, don't stress too much.

Depends on a lot of factors.  I just past the 10 week point, and I've only lost 47.  But this is following massive weight loss on an assisted diet program, so I'm still feeling pretty good about it.
