Sticky Post for new name......

Does anyone know how to do a sticky post ? I think we should have one to decide on a new name for the forum. I want to make sure we get full input for the change. I feel it is important to get it changed in a timely fashion and still be inclusive.

No clue, but great idea. Maybe foobear has an update about how it's going?

My original comment received a response from an OH staffperson -- someone named "Shannon" -- saying that the current name of the GLBT Forum was longer than they'd like, and she instructed us to take a vote and get back to her.  Well, we discussed this briefly, as you know, at which point "sal H." made the excellent point that our current forum name was shorter than the official listed name of the RNY Forum.

I raised that issue with Shannot @ OH earlier this week, but as of last Friday, hadn't received a response.  I think we'd just as soon keep the current name but have it added to the list of "Weight Loss Related" Forums for easy and convenient menu access (right?  I think that's where it should belong; certain not "Off Topic"!)  That's not a demand, of course, but keeping the current forum name would keep the status quo and be maximally inclusive and also searchable by common keywords, which seems desirable.

I think we need to reopen this discussion via PMs with the OH staff.   Does someone (Sean?) want to take this and run with it?

It would be nice to have the forum in the main list. I had no idea the forum was even here until I saw the link on someone else's signature!

Hello, just wanted to let you know that I did not forget about our conversation via the boards. My apologies for the delay, we have been very busy with launch bug fixes.

I wanted to give you a quick update. I put in an IT request to place the forum into a different location than the original open spot placement.  This will make for a longer vertical scroll but will provide enough character length for the original name to stay in place. Over the next month we will be making overall adjustments to the navigation widths and if we find the need to make a change to forum name lengths at that point in time, I would like to get back in touch with consideration to a community choice.

• Forums
  • Weight Loss Related
    • Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual & Transgender Forum

How neat is that?!?!?  Finally!
