Day 2!!!
Hi everyone. Well I'm 24 hours post-surgery and am feeling great. I'm honestly surprised at how well this has gone. I've only had one "oops" moment so far. Mom brought me some sugar-free jello cups yesterday. I ate about half of one last night and apparently didn't chew it enough. I had about 20 minutes of pain and was belched some weird foam. But it cleared and I haven't had any more trouble. I looked at the jello cup, and it turns out it is one of the type that doesn't have to be refrigerated. I figure that means it is harder to break down that the "old fashioned" stuff.
I've already had about 10 oz of a protein drink so far this morning (20g protein) and am working to stay hydrated.
My partner is working in Berkeley, CA for 6 moths, and just started his assignment on 12/1. I told him not to miss work to come back for my surgery. My parents drove down and are spending the weekend, which has been a huge help. I'm feeling good enough today to walk around the block. It's surprisingly sunny and warm here today. Anyway, I'm unbelievably stoked about having this new tool and I feel like I'm just starting a new and exciting chapter of my life.

Foamies... I have seen it called sliming. I am all too familiar with this. It's a lesson you learn with the lapband. You learn when to stop eating by the feeling in your stomach. If you go to far, the sliming and burping usually follows. With each of my fills, I have had to relearn when to stop. More importantly, I have learned to chew, chew, chew! Wow.. you must have good restriction for that to happen so soon. It took be some time for the first incident to happen. Sounds like you are off to a great start. Best wishes -- Tom
