I'm alive - actually turned the corner & feelin much better (long)

I'm home and sipping and walking. Thank God for wives who are willing and able to give rectal meds! sorry if that's TMI, but it's true.

I developed an allergy to flagyl in the hospital. The longer you stay, the more doses you get. By dose 3, I was cold, clammy, shakey, then hot and flushed, the dry heaving and hard burping and more shaking. The little witches hooked me up again after a walk, just to be sure and I felt so crap that I didn't stop them. Yep, it was the flagyl, so I got to experience a mini version just to be sure.

They wanted me to drink 10 oz of barium prior to my swallow, but the Flagyl was making me more nauseated, so more phenergan, so I couldn't stay awake to sip, and my throat hurt from the dry heaves. Turns out 5 oz was plenty, so I got it done and went home. Figured if they helped me much more.......

Phenergan suppositories and rectal dilaudid are letting my throat heal up enough that hopefully I can drink the nasty Roxicet elixer if the dilaudid runs out and I need pain meds.

Glad you made it home...My favorite drug is Phenergan..I already have a stock in supply for the post op world.

OMG!!!! I am such a baby that they would have me in a psych ward by now.  I lived on liquid vicodin for 2 weeks and that was just for lap band!!!  I hope you feel better soon!!  and That is wonderful your wife is so good!  My partner is special too!!!

Hi Nean......So glad your home and doin well....except for the...ouch!!

Gotta love those drugs.....I lived on Vicodin liquid for two weeks....2 huge bottles..yum!

Keep a sippin and walkin and be sure to get that liquid protein in....way,way important with our sleeves.....LOVE my sleeve...you will too.

Thanks! Each day is much better than the last. Even choked down some of the Roxicet elixer. Didn't hurt the throat, but that is one of the most vial tasting substances!!!!
