Hair Loss Question
Yep, it's totally normal. I had hair loss from about 3 to 6 months post-op, then it stopped and grew back in just fine. I've read that there's a couple causes. First is that it's a side effect of the anesthesia. Second is that its because of the drastic change in your nutrition, especially the reduction in your protein intake. As we get further out from surgery and can get in more nutrition, including protein, the problem generally goes away.
I've also read that taking zinc and biotin can help encourage new hair growth, although they don't do a thing to stop hair loss. You can buy both supplements over the counter at any drug store.

I heard it was 3 to 6 months out is when the hair loss happens. I started noticing at 4 months out and it lasted a little longer since I had surgery a little over 6 months out. I am waiting for it to happen again due to recent anesthesia. I used Nioxin shampoo and it was WONDERFUL! I could tell if I didn't use it one day the hair was falling out faster. Lucky for me I have a head full of hair and you really couldn't tell by looking at it that it was thinning.
I shall now be know as Hagatha: Queen of the queens.
